Andrew Bynum (knees) will meet with his personal orthopedist on Thursday to determine whether or not he can be cleared for basketball activities.
This is just a reminder that we'll know more about Bynum's status after the examination. He's reportedly pain-free and is feeling the best he has in quite some time, but he's still got a few hurdles to clear before anyone gets too excited.

Andrew Bynum said that his left knee is "feeling much better" on Sunday.
Bynum is scheduled to have an MRI on December 20 and we'll know a lot more once those results are released. If stashing players in your thing, it might not be a bad idea to pick him up as a preemptive move, then you can feel free to cut him on Thursday should the MRI bring bad news.

Andrew Bynum's right knee "feeling great," but his left knee is "still really sore."
It's worth noting because it was Bynum's right knee that originally gave him pain, so while that knee has improved, the left one is still an issue. "It's just pain, just by walking around," he said. Bynum is going to be reevaluated on December 20, and this ugly situation may finally gain some clarity at that point. We'd be surprised to see him before mid-to-late January in a best-case scenario.

Andrew Bynum said on Monday that his left knee still hurts when he walks, but his right knee feels good and he does intend to play this season.
Bynum acknowledged the "possibility" that doctors will tell him to shut it down for the year, but he sounded quite optimistic about his appointment to have an MRI on Dec. 20. "Worst-case scenario, it's another month [after the MRI]," said Bynum. "Best-case scenario, I can wrap it up." The fact that walking causes him pain suggests he's still a good distance from returning, but owners in deep leagues, or with 'injured reserve' spots, should consider stashing him in the hopes that he returns and is motivated by a contract year.

The swelling in Andrew Bynum's knees has "greatly reduced," according to Bynum's agent David Lee.
It's worth noting that Lee is Bynum's agent and not his doctor and that he's got plenty of incentive to put out a positive report about his client's health, but we'll know more when Bynum undergoes another reevaluation on December 20. His timetable to return remains uncertain, and we're still considering him out indefinitely until we hear otherwise.

Andrew Bynum is "continuing to be treated for pain management in both knees," and there is no timetable for his return.
Bynum will have another MRI on December 20, when we should learn a lot more about his status for what will be left of the 2012-13 season. He's out indefinitely and nobody has any idea when he'll be back on the court.

Andrew Bynum (knees) remains without a date for his return, and USA Today reports that he'll be sidelined until at least January 1.
Bynum is expected to undergo another MRI on December 10, but USA Today reports that it will be "after Jan. 1 for sure, if at all this season" when discussing Bynum's potential return. It's an ugly situation that's not improving, and we'll continue to call Bynum out indefinitely.

Andrew Bynum (knees) will have another MRI on Dec. 10, and the Sixers are leaving his return date entirely in Bynum's hands.
"We're anticipating he'll be back at some point," said GM Tony DiLeo. "We hope he will be back. We have plans for the future if he is not back with us, but we are anticipating this is a short-term thing." It's hard to imagine Bynum's knees looking much different in a few weeks, and DiLeo even said that Bynum's "knees now in the MRIs are not the same as they were at the time [the 76ers acquired him] so it's a different type of situation."

Sixers GM Tony DiLeo said Andrew Bynum (knee) remains out indefinitely and he will be re-evaluated in mid-December.
The Sixers were hoping to have some course of action on Bynum by the end of the month, but it would appear there are too many variables to make a prognosis. Bynum has made his way to the waiver wire in several formats and justifiably so.

The Sixers are hoping to have a prognosis and a course of corrective action on Andrew Bynum within 10 days.
"We have to continue to be patient," Sixers GM Tony DiLeo said. "We want to be cautious. We're looking long term in this, not short term, and big picture." This has been the the strangest story so far this year and despite some owners investing a very high pick on the former Laker, he isn't a must-own player.
