Andrew Bynum is not expected to be re-signed by the Sixers after the team traded for Nerlens Noel. We didn't expect Bynum back in Philadelphia after his disaster of a season this year, and we have a strong inclination that Bynum wouldn't have been back regardless of what the Sixers did on draft night. Bynum will be one of the more fascinating free agent cases to follow considering all of the uncertainties regarding his health.

The Sixers are not expected to talk contract with impending free agent Andrew Bynum before July 1.

Andrew Bynum (knees) has completed his rehab from season-ending surgery and will resume basketball workouts next week. There is "not a concern in the world" about Bynum's availability for training camp according to his agent, but that's the same thing we heard last year before the big man missed the entire season. Bynum has had no conversations with the Sixers, and a reunion between the two sides seems extremely unlikely.

An NBA GM said that Andrew Bynum won't get more than a one-year deal. This isn't exactly earth-shattering news on Bynum and conventional wisdom would suggest that most teams would be extremely apprehensive to sign him to a multi-year contract. He missed every game this year and over the previous five seasons, Bynum missed 26.0 games per season. A 25-year-old center already having serious durability issues is going to make it tough on his agent to get leverage in contract negotiations.

New Sixers GM Sam Hinkie said it's fair to label the Andrew Bynum trade as "a failure." Between Hinkie's statement that he views Bynum as just another free agent and calling the trade to bring him to the team "a failure," we just can't imagine any way the big man returns to the Sixers. If he winds up with another team, Bynum's career in Philadelphia will have lasted just one season and resulted in zero games played.

New Sixers GM Sam Hinkie said he sees Andrew Bynum as just another free agent. In theory, unrestricted free agents aren't property of any team. But the Sixers do have exclusive negotiating rights with Bynum until July 1 and they can pay him more than anyone else thanks to his Bird Rights. Still, we fully expect Bynum to test the market and land with the highest bidder. It's unclear how high that bid will be considering he played zero minutes this season.

Sixers owner Josh Harris says the team hasn't ruled out re-signing Andrew Bynum. The full quote from Harris is a bit more damning. "'I'm not saying we're going to bring him back. I'm saying we haven't ruled it out," Harris told the media during exit day Thursday. That doesn't exactly sound like the strongest vote of confidence for Bynum's future in Philly. Bynum's camp has seemingly flip-flopped their stance, with Bynum saying there will be no discount for the Sixers and his agent saying Bynum hasn't ruled out re-signing. Bynum is immensely talented, but he also didn't play a single game this season because of a potentially degenerative knee issue. Safe to say, it'll be an interesting summer for Bynum and the Sixers.

Andrew Bynum's agent said that his client hasn't ruled out re-signing with the Sixers. It's getting hard to tell whether Bynum is purposely toying with Sixers fans at this point. This comes on the heels of a report that Bynum won't give the team a discount in free agency, and it's pretty interesting to see a guy who hasn't played basketball this season and has no timetable to do so make contract demands for the following year. Bynum's agent said "I still feel like the ball is in their court," which is similar to what he said when Bynum was with the Lakers. As for Bynum, he famously remarked there is a bank in every city, so we have a strong feeling he'll go to the highest bidder. There are zero guarantees with Bynum's health, but he's two weeks into his rehab and hasn't experienced any pain or swelling in his knees.

A source told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Andrew Bynum will not give the Sixers a discount in free agency. Isn't that nice? The Sixers paid Bynum over $16 million this season to never play a game, but apparently the big man feels that he owes the franchise nothing. He will have at least a handful of suitors in free agency and how his next contract is structured should be extremely interesting. The Sixers maintain interest in re-signing him.

Andrew Bynum (knee surgeries) will be on crutches for six weeks. Most athletes can return to action following a simple scope in 2-3 weeks. At this point, Bynum is not most athletes. He's previously had major surgeries to repair a dislocated kneecap, torn cartilage, sustained bone bruises and underwent experimental procedures in Germany. Bynum carries a truck full of red flags as he heads into unrestricted free agency.
