Wandy Rodriguez cruised to an easy victory against the Reds on Friday, giving up two runs on six hits over his six innings of work. The Astros offense staked Wandy to a 6-0 lead early on, and he did his part by shutting down the Reds. He racked up six strikeouts and walked two in the process. He's now 2-2 with a very impressive 1.72 ERA through his first five starts. He'll look to continue his strong start when he takes on the Mets next time out.

Wandy Rodriguez will move up a day in the rotation to start Friday against the Reds. Rodriguez was originally scheduled to start Saturday, but the Astros were forced to alter the rotation after Kyle Weiland came down with shoulder soreness. The 33-year-old left-hander last started on Sunday, so he'll be going on regular rest.

Wandy Rodriguez was outdueled by Gio Gonzalez Tuesday, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out three over seven innings. A superb effort from Wandy, but the 'Stros offense couldn't get anything done against Gio. An Adam LaRoche RBI single in the fourth inning is all the Nats could muster, but it was enough. Rodriguez is now 0-2 despite a 1.96 ERA and 1.09 WHIP over his first three starts. He'll face the Dodgers this weekend.

Wandy Rodriguez allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits in just five innings of Wednesday's loss to the Braves. Rodriguez struck out five while walking just one, but wasn't particularly sharp after allowing three unearned runs in 6 2/3 innings against the Rockies last Friday. Now the owner of a 2.38 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 7/3 K/BB ratio through his first 12 2/3 innings, he'll get the Nationals in Washington next Tuesday.

Wandy Rodriguez suffered his first defeat of the season on Friday against the Rockies, though he didn't allow an earned run. All three Rockie runs came across in the third inning after Dexter Fowler had reached base on an error. Though a solid effort, he only managed to strike out two in his 6 1/3 innings of work. Wandy is going to have a hard enough time winning games this season with the Astros offense backing him, but he's really in trouble if he's losing games without giving up an earned run.

Wandy Rodriguez surrendered three runs and eight hits in five innings Sunday in a loss to the Tigers. Rodriguez finished another terrible spring with a 7.29 ERA. It's actually his best spring ERA since 2009. Since he always seems to figure it out right away in the regular season, he's a decent enough play against the Rockies on Opening Day.

Wandy Rodriguez will start Opening Day against the Rockies on April 6. Not a surprise. Rodriguez was the most logical option for the assignment now that last year's Opening Day starter, Brett Myers, is the closer. The 33-year-old left-hander has an ugly 7.88 ERA over four starts this spring, but that's not much of a concern given his long track record.

Wandy Rodriguez was hit hard again on Tuesday, surrendering five runs over six innings to the Tigers. All five runs came in the first two frames, after which Houston's ace settled down nicely. He gave up six hits and a walk while fanning four. His spring campaign is just a hair better than his previous one, as he owns a 7.88 ERA and a 1.81 WHIP.

Wandy Rodriguez gave up four runs -- two earned -- and walked five in 3 2/3 innings Thursday against the Mets. Rodriguez pitched well in his spring debut, but he's allowed nine runs and 14 hits in seven innings since. Really, though, this is all par for the course with him. He's never had a good March at any point in his career, and he finished with ERAs of 12.10 and 8.04 the last two springs.

Wandy Rodriguez was smoked for seven runs over 3 1/3 innings in Friday's loss to the Braves. Ouch. Rodriguez gave up eight hits -- including a grand slam to Jason Heyward and a two-run homer to former teammate Michael Bourn -- while walking two and striking out none. The southpaw was bothered by a bad back early in camp, but we'll just chalk this up to a bad night at the office. Rodriguez should still have value in mixed leagues this season, but we'd like him a lot more if he was dealt to a contender.
