Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Rockies "will make another aggressive run" at the Astros' Wandy Rodriguez over the offseason. It's not surprising, as the Rockies claimed Rodriguez on waivers in August but were unable to work out a deal for the left-hander. Renck says that the Rox were willing in August to take on the remainder of Wandy's contract (he'll make $36 million over the next three years if his 2014 option is picked up) but balked at the Astros' asking price of Drew Pomeranz and Wilin Rosario. Assuming Colorado is still willing to absorb the rest of Rodriguez's contract, the Astros seem likely to lower their demands over the winter.

Wandy Rodriguez struck out seven batters over six quality innings in Saturday's 9-3 defeat of the Nationals. Rodriguez yielded seven hits and three runs, but he did not walk a batter and did a fine job of limiting the damage in tight situations. He's now 11-10 on a pitiful Astros team with a decent 3.51 ERA and 1.30 WHIP. Wandy also has 155 strikeouts.

Wandy Rodriguez couldn't slow down the Brewers on Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks in six innings of an Astros loss. He struck out eight and allowed a pair of solo home runs. Now the owner of a 3.39 ERA in 63 2/3 innings since the All-Star break, Rodriguez's next start should come on Saturday in Washington D.C.

Wandy Rodriguez punched out a career-high 13 batters, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks in Monday's 7-4 win over the Pirates. Rodriguez's previous high-water mark was 11, which he has accomplished on three occasions. He gave up all three of his runs in the fourth inning but was obviously in total control otherwise. Yes, it was against the Pirates, but it's outings like this that had teams interested in trading for the inconsistent, but talented left-hander. He'll take a 3.43 ERA and 1.30 WHIP into this weekend's outing against the Brewers.

Richard Justice of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Astros have pulled Wandy Rodriguez back from waivers. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal has confirmed the report. It appears trade negotiations with the Astros and Rockies never got off the ground. Rodriguez will now remain with Houston for the remainder of the season, though they'll probably look to shop him again over the winter. He has at least $25.5 million remaining on his contract.

Pitching against the team that claimed him on waivers, Wandy Rodriguez gave up six runs -- four earned -- and 10 hits in six innings Wednesday versus the Rockies. Rodriguez fanned just two and gave up homers to both Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez, so he didn't make a very favorable impression. There hasn't been any momentum towards getting a deal done anyway. The Astros and Rockies have until Thursday afternoon to work something out.

Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that there is currently "no momentum" for the Rockies to acquire Wandy Rodriguez from the Astros. This isn't far off from what ESPN's Buster Olney reported on Tuesday. Not only do the Astros want a top prospect in exchange for Rodriguez (Renck hears they covet catcher Wilson Rosario), but they also want the Rockies to take on the $37 million left on his contract. The teams have until 1 p.m. ET on Thursday to work out a trade or Rodriguez will remain with the Astros.

Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Astros "still want significant pieces back" in exchange for Wandy Rodriguez. The Rockies have claimed Rodriguez off waivers from the Astros and are hoping to work out a deal for the left-hander. Given Rodriguez's contract, it likely won't take a major package, but the Astros aren't just going to give him away, either. Renck mentions Christian Friedrich, Wilin Rosario and Hector Gomez as possible pieces that could go to Houston.

According to ESPN's Buster Olney, there is speculation among rival teams that the Nationals claimed Wandy Rodriguez off waivers from the Astros on Tuesday. It certainly makes sense. As an out-of-contention team, the Nationals would've had the opportunity to claim Rodriguez before many other potentially interested clubs. And they're known to want a veteran starter for their 2012 rotation. If the Nats are comfortable with the $36 million that Wandy is owed over the next three seasons, they could pull the trigger and work out a waiver trade.

According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, Astros left-hander Wandy Rodriguez has been claimed on waivers. Rodriguez is owed $10 million in 2012, $13 million in 2013 and caries a $13 million vesting option for 2014, so it's unlikely that a trade will go through unless the team that claimed him is prepared to take on that kind of contact. Wandy has posted a 3.31 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 23 starts this year.
