Wandy Rodriguez bled baserunners in Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers, allowing five runs on 10 hits and a walk in 5 2/3 innings of work.
Rodriguez notched just one strikeout in falling to 7-12 on the season, and 0-3 as a Pirate. The non-quality outing was his second straight. He'll look to get on track against the Padres in San Diego on Monday, where he'll be sporting a 4.06 ERA at first pitch.

Wandy Rodriguez surrendered four runs in six innings Thursday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.
Jason Kubel and Wil Nieves homered as Rodriguez fell to 0-5 in his last six starts. He hasn't exactly pitched badly for the Pirates, surrendering 10 runs in 19 innings to date, but he also hasn't made anyone upset that they missed out on him.

Wandy Rodriguez surrendered three earned runs over six innings Saturday in his Pirates debut.
The Bucs were probably hoping for a little better of Wandy, but they were able to squeeze out a 4-3 victory nonetheless. Rodriguez walked five batters and allowed six hits. He will carry a 3.82 ERA and 1.30 WHIP into his next scheduled start against the Reds. Pittsburgh is now a surprising 16 games over the .500 mark.

Making matters more interesting, he'll make the start in Houston. Rodriguez has a 3.79 ERA and 89/32 K/BB ratio over 130 2/3 innings this season and is a must-start in fantasy leagues against his former club.

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that the trade sending Wandy Rodriguez to the Pirates is a "done deal."
Not surprisingly, he says money will be changing hands in order to offset some of the $30 million the Pirates are taking on. There's no word yet on who the Astros are picking up, though infielder Alen Hanson was pulled after the one inning Tuesday at Low-A West Virginia, so he could be involved.

Wandy Rodriguez was decent in a loss to the Reds Monday, giving up three runs over six innings while allowing seven hits and three walks.
He struck out six. It wasn't a pretty outing, but it marks Wandy's first quality start in his last four tries, as he's really been scuffling of late. He's a candidate to be traded this month but is currently slated to take a 3.79 ERA and 1.27 WHIP into this weekend's start against the Pirates.

Astros pitching coach Doug Brocail thinks Wandy Rodriguez's recent struggles are due to being distracted by his name being involved in trade rumors.
Rodriguez holds a 5.65 ERA over his past 10 starts after putting up a 2.14 ERA in his first 10 starts of the season. The lefty also struggled last year around the time his name was involved in trade rumors. "We saw it last year when we were going through it and his name kept coming up," Brocail said. "He gets a little nervous about that. I try to tell him it's nothing you can control. But I see it because I'm with him every day and talk to him every day." The Astros made their first big trade of the month Friday, and there's a pretty good chance Rodriguez is also eventually moved.

Wandy Rodriguez was stellar in Saturday's victory over the Brewers, surrendering two runs (one earned) on four hits over 5 1/3 innings.
Rodriguez punched out five and walked two in the game. The only runs he allowed scored in the sixth inning, courtesy of an error, single, field choice and two wild pitches. A very popular name on the trade block, Rodriguez is enjoying another very solid season, posting a 7-6 record, 3.45 ERA and 75/25 K/BB ratio through 114 2/3 innings in the first half of the season.

According to MASN's Roch Kubatko, the Orioles have contacted the Astros about Wandy Rodriguez.
It's not surprise, as the Orioles figure to be active in acquiring starting pitching depth. The Astros are listening to offers for Rodriguez, but a vesting clause in his contract complicates any potential deal. In addition to the Orioles, the Yankees, Giants, and Blue Jays have been linked as possible landing spots.
