Shaw cracked a three-run homer in the Brewers 7-5 victory over the Cardinals on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
This marked the third game in a row that the 27-year-old homered in, as well as the fourth time in his last five games. After Thursday's smashing performance, Shaw raised his batting average to a passable .254 mark while his OPS elevated to .944. He also is making contact at a surprisingly solid 81 percent rate, and his .239 BABIP even suggests that he's been the victim of some bad luck in the early going.

Shaw went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run during Wednesday's loss to Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a feast-or-famine start to the year for Shaw, as 11 of his 14 hits have gone for extra bases en route to a .237 batting average and .593 slugging percentage. As long as you can live with the potential anchor to your batting average, there is plenty to like about Shaw. He's locked into the heart of a promising lineup, and Miller Park is a favorably hitting environment. It's also a promising setup for daily contests.

Shaw went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, a stolen base, two runs scored and three RBI in Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Both doubles came off Chicago left-hander Brett Anderson, and while Shaw didn't had a severe platoon split during his time in Boston it's still an encouraging sign for anyone who picked up shares in the third baseman expecting him to get a full-time role in Milwaukee. Shaw's now slashing .241/.305/.574 with three homers and 11 RBI through 14 games this season.

Shaw is not in the Brewers' starting lineup Saturday against the Reds, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It will mark the first time this season that Shaw hasn't started. With southpaw Brandon Finnegan taking the mound for Cincinnati, the lefty slugger will give way to Hernan Perez at the hot corner. Shaw has cooled off after a hot start, batting .214, but still ranks second on the team with seven RBI.

Shaw will bat fourth as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw is off to a hot start to the season, hitting 7-for-25 with one homer, five doubles and six RBI through seven games. He'll move to DH while Hernan Perez gets the start at third base, something the Brewers could do often against AL teams in order to see him and Perez in the lineup together.

Shaw went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's 6-1 win over Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
After abusing Rockies pitchers for four doubles in the first two games of the season, Shaw decided to hit one a little farther this time around. He has five RBI already, enjoying his premier lineup slotting, but it's worth remembering that Shaw saw nearly a full season's worth of plate appearances last year (530) and hit just .242/.306/.421 with 16 homers -- that's far from big-time production. Shaw's weaknesses as a hitter appeared to be exposed with full-time action, and there's nothing in last season's line to say that he got unlucky. He might improve his stats to some degree this year just because he has more experience to go off, but if you expect stardom, you're probably going to be disappointed.

Shaw went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
He's banged out four doubles in the first two games of the season, breaking the previous Brewers record of three doubles in the first two games set by Hall of Famer Paul Molitor 30 years ago. It seems safe to say that Shaw is adapting quickly to hitting in Miller Park, and if he can stick in the starting lineup he could top last season's career highs of 34 doubles and 71 RBI.

Shaw will slot into the cleanup spot and man third base in Monday's game against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Aside from reserve first baseman Jesus Aguilar, Shaw was perhaps the Brewers' most impressive performer in spring training, as the offseason pickup swatted five homers and turned in a gaudy .351/.435/.719. He'll be rewarded for his efforts with a prime spot in the Brewers' lineup, and figures to remain the cleanup hitter in the early going whenever the team faces a right-handed starter. Due to his struggles against southpaws last season, however, Shaw could be benched in favor of Hernan Perez when lefties take the hill for the opposition.

Shaw went 10-for-21 (.476) with two home runs, three doubles, and five RBI over his last seven spring games and owns a 1.123 OPS during the exhibition season.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw has adjusted well since joining his new team over the offseason and has found a home in the middle of the Brewers' batting order. Shaw struggled mightily against left-handers last season (.599 OPS) and thus is unlikely to be in the lineup often against southpaws, but he has handled them well so far this spring, posting a .946 OPS over -- albeit a small sample size -- 16 plate appearances.

Shaw went 1-for-3 with a home run in Wednesday's game and owns a .278/.391/.500 slash line through eight spring games.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw has not had more than one hit in any game this spring, but he does have a stolen base in addition to his home run, an early sign that he could attempt more steals in 2017 thanks to his trade to the run-happy Brewers. It remains to be seen how much Shaw will play against left-handers during the regular season, but he will play regularly against righties, and based on spring games, will occupy a spot in the middle third of the Brewers' batting order those days.
