Shaw will slot into the cleanup spot and man third base in Monday's game against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Aside from reserve first baseman Jesus Aguilar, Shaw was perhaps the Brewers' most impressive performer in spring training, as the offseason pickup swatted five homers and turned in a gaudy .351/.435/.719. He'll be rewarded for his efforts with a prime spot in the Brewers' lineup, and figures to remain the cleanup hitter in the early going whenever the team faces a right-handed starter. Due to his struggles against southpaws last season, however, Shaw could be benched in favor of Hernan Perez when lefties take the hill for the opposition.
