Shaw was placed on the paternity list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
With this development, Shaw will be away from the team for a few days. It's unclear how long he'll be away from the team, but there's a decent chance that he could return before the Brewers' current four-game set with the Giants. Look for Hernan Perez, Nick Franklin and Eric Sogard to log time at the hot corner while he's away.

Shaw went 3-for-4 with a grand slam and a stolen base during Saturday's loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The third baseman is in the midst of a breakout campaign with a .296/.341/.538 slash line, 10 homers, 40 RBI, five stolen bases and 26 runs. Those numbers play in all fantasy settings, and the five steals have been a sneaky bonus. Shaw's current pace might prove to be unsustainable through the remainder of the season, but hitting in the heart of a solid lineup and calling Miller Park home is a cushy virtual setup. He's also in the heart of his prime at 27.

Shaw is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
With Clayton Kershaw taking the hill for Los Angeles, the Brewers will use a lineup almost entirely comprised of right-handed or switch hitters. With that, Hernan Perez will take over at third base in place of Shaw and bat cleanup. Shaw has posted decent numbers against lefties this season with a .265 average and a .790 OPS, so there's a chance he'll draw back in against southpaw Rich Hill on Saturday.

Shaw is not in the lineup Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the fact that he's hitting .300 against lefties this season, Shaw will head to the bench for a night off with southpaw Robbie Ray taking the hill for Arizona. Hernan Perez will fill in at the hot corner for the evening.

Shaw went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw's ninth dinger of the season came in a five-run ninth inning. The 27-year-old is now quietly in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak that has seen his slash line increase to .290/.327/.555 with 34 RBI in 165 plate appearances. He's been one of the most consistent bats in a surprisingly strong Milwaukee lineup. As long as he continues to mash like this, he deserves to be rostered in all leagues.

Shaw went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in Wednesday's win against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old continues to be excellent in the first inning of ballgames, with his one-out single off Jhoulys Chacin opening the scoring in the third game of the series. This just adds another page to the strong start Shaw has gotten off to this season, as he's now hitting .289 with 32 RBI, which is nearly half of the runs he drove in all of last season.

Shaw (finger) is back in the lineup Wednesday against the Padres, batting cleanup and playing third base.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw missed the first two games of the Brewers' road trip after injuring his finger while diving for a grounder in Sunday's contest, but he seems to be back to full health now. He'll resume his regular role in Milwaukee's batting order, offering protection for Jesus Aguilar for the evening.

Shaw (finger) hopes to return for Wednesday's game against the Padres, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw had previously hoped to be ready to play in Tuesday's game, but the team ultimately opted to rest their third baseman for the second straight day as he tends to his injured index finger. Eric Sogard is manning the hot corner Tuesday, but Shaw could retake the position Wednesday if all goes as planned.

Shaw (finger) is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw will sit for the second straight game after injuring his finger diving for a grounder Sunday. While X-rays came back negative, the ailment is apparently still bothering enough to keep him out of the lineup. Eric Sogard will draw the start at third base in his stead, while he should continue to be considered day-to-day in the truest sense.

Shaw (finger) is not in the lineup Monday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw was pulled from Sunday's contest after hurting his finger diving for a groundball, and while X-rays seem to indicate he avoided a serious injury, he'll be held out Monday as precaution. Hernan Perez will get the start at third base in his stead. He should continue to be considered day-to-day, while his status for Tuesday's game may not be known until after pregame warm-ups.
