Paul Goldschmidt came up a single shy of the cycle Saturday in leading the Diamondbacks to a 10-5 win over the Cubs. Goldschmidt made outs in his first two at-bats before tripling in the third, homering in the sixth and doubling in the eighth. The triple was his second in 109 big-league games. This year, he has 19 doubles, one triple and 10 homers in 207 at-bats.

Paul Goldschmidt homered, doubled twice and drove in three runs against the Rockies on Wednesday. Goldschmidt has raised his average all of the way from .223 to .288 during his 14-game hitting streak. It's doubtful his average will stay that high, but the increased power should be here to stay. The homer tonight was his fifth in nine games.

Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Giants. After seeing his numbers bottom out at .218/.279/.337 on May 14, Goldschmidt is now batting a much healthier .266/.342/.434.

Paul Goldschmidt hit his third homer of the season Sunday against the Brewers. Goldschmidt has hit in six straight games, collecting extra-base hits in five of them. Credit the Diamondbacks for continuing to start him against some right-handers, even though Lyle Overbay has the much better average thus far.

Paul Goldschmidt doubled in Wednesday's loss to the Rockies. Goldschmidt's fourth-inning two-bagger off of Jamie Moyer was his only hit in four trips to the plate. He struck out twice. Arizona's sophomore first baseman is hitting a brutal .219/.278/.343 on the season, but has been slightly better in May, batting .250 to go along with six extra-base hits and seven RBI. He should continue to slowly unthaw.

Paul Goldschmidt homered in his only at-bat in Monday's loss to the A's. He took Justin Souza deep in the ninth inning. Goldschmidt's second home run of the spring was his second in five games. Goldschmidt is hitting just .242 through his first 33 Cactus League at-bats, but remains a must draft in all NL-only leagues.

Paul Goldschmidt laced a two-run triple in Friday's win over the White Sox. That's more like it. Off to a slow start this spring, Goldschmidt has now homered and tripled in the past two days, plating six runs in the process. He's still hitting just .222, however, and was already a candidate to get off to a slow start as the league made adjustments following his successful rookie year cup of coffee.

Paul Goldschmidt blasted a grand slam Thursday against the Cubs. Goldschmidt didn't start the game but entered late in a double-switch and launched the bases-loaded shot against Cubs reliever Jeff Beliveau. It's the first homer and first four RBI this spring for the powerful first baseman. He's still batting just .200 through 25 at-bats.
