Goldschmidt (knee) is starting at first base and batting sixth Sunday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt has been battling a knee sprain, but he'll return to the lineup for the first time since Tuesday. The veteran first baseman has a .716 OPS through 11 games in August, though he's gone just 3-for-24 outside of a three-hit performance Aug. 4 in Miami.

Goldschmidt isn't in the starting lineup against St. Louis on Saturday, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for the third straight game as he deals with a low-grade strain in his right knee. That said, he was able to appear as a defensive replacement at first base late Friday (though he didn't make a plate appearance), so he could be available off the bench again Saturday. Ben Rice is starting at first base in Goldschmidt's stead.

Goldschmidt (knee) is not in the Yankees' starting lineup against the Cardinals on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Per Brendan Kuty of The Athletic, Goldschmidt is dealing with a low-grade strain in his right knee, and that will keep the veteran out of the lineup for Friday's series opener. Cody Bellinger will serve as the Yankees' first baseman and bat in the cleanup spot while Jasson Dominguez, Trent Grisham and Jose Caballero man the outfield from left to right. An IL stint isn't expected for Goldschmidt, and he relayed that he should be available off the bench, per Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat.

Manager Aaron Boone said after Wednesday's loss to Minnesota that Goldschmidt was unavailable off the bench due to a right knee injury, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees are still in the process of evaluating Goldschmidt's injury, but the club's skipper said there is a chance the veteran first baseman ends up on the injured list. If that happens, Ben Rice would presumably take over as New York's first baseman, and Austin Wells would reclaim the primary catcher role.

Goldschmidt is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt had started each of the first two games of the series, but his playing time versus right-handers has been trending down in the second half. The Yankees will turn to Ben Rice at first base and Austin Wells at catcher.

Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
He batted leadoff and went 1-for-4 against Framber Valdez on Saturday, but Goldschmidt will find himself on the bench for a third straight matchup with a righty (Jason Alexander). Ben Rice owns a 223-point edge over Goldschmidt in OPS versus right-handed pitching on the season, so the younger slugger could continue to be prioritized at first base in those matchups.

Goldschmidt isn't part of the starting nine for Friday's game against Houston.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt is on the bench for a second straight game as Ben Rice fills in at first base. Goldschmit entered as a pinch hitter Wednesday -- the team's last game -- and delivered a solo home run. This is the first time the 37-year-old has been out of the team's starting lineup in back-to-back games since June 21-22.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 win against Texas.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt didn't start, as Ben Rice instead got a turn at first base. However, Goldschmidt was called upon to pinch hit in the seventh inning and came through with a solo shot to left field to provide what proved to be the winning run. The veteran slugger may be regaining his power stroke, as he has two homers and a double over his past three games spanning 10 plate appearances. Prior to that, Goldschmidt went without a long ball for 31 consecutive contests.

Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt will get a breather after he went 3-for-8 with a solo home run, a double and three runs while picking up starts in the first two games of the series. Since the All-Star break, Goldschmidt is slashing just .224/.269/.347, and his struggles against right-handing pitching in particular throughout the season (66 wRC+ over 301 plate appearances) could eventually put him in danger of fading into a quasi-platoon with the left-handed-hitting Ben Rice, who will cover first base and bat second Wednesday.

Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and three total runs scored in an extra-inning loss to the Rangers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt led off the game with a 419-foot blast to left field. The long ball was his first since June 19 -- a span of 31 games. Goldschmidt batted just .212 with only six RBI during the long power drought, but he's continued to hold down a near-everyday role at first base of late, starting seven of the Yankees' past eight games.
