In his return from the disabled list, Mike Pelfrey spun six scoreless frames in a 6-0 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Pelfrey outdueled his former teammate by allowing just three hits, all of them singles. He walked the bases loaded in the first inning, but faced the minimum over his final five innings. The veteran right-hander now has a 5.63 ERA and 40/24 K/BB ratio in 76 2/3 innings over 15 starts this season. He lines up to face the Rays next week at Tropicana Field.

Twins activated RHP Mike Pelfrey from the 15-day disabled list.
Pelfrey will make his return on Saturday against the Blue Jays. The right-hander looked good during his lone rehab start, but with a 6.11 ERA in 14 starts this season, he can be avoided for fantasy purposes.

Twins general manager Ron Gardenhire said on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM on Tuesday that Mike Pelfrey (back) is expected to be activated from the disabled list to start Saturday against the Blue Jays.
Pelfrey allowed two runs over six innings and struck out six Monday in a rehab start with Low-A Cedar Rapids. The veteran right-hander owns a 6.11 ERA in 14 starts this season, so he isn't really a fantasy option.

Mike Pelfrey (back) allowed two runs on two hits and no walks while striking out six over six frames in a rehab start with Low-A Cedar Rapids Monday.
Pelfrey said he "felt fine" afterwards, which means he should be cleared to rejoin the Twins' rotation on Saturday. He'll return to an ugly 6.11 ERA and 1.63 WHIP.

Mike Pelfrey (back) is slated to rejoin the Twins' rotation on Saturday.
That's assuming Monday's rehab start goes off without a hitch. Pelfrey, who is recovering from a back strain, posted a 6.11 ERA and 1.63 WHIP before landing on the DL. He seems likely to bump P.J. Walters from the rotation.

Mike Pelfrey (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Low-A Cedar Rapids on Monday.
Pelfrey is scheduled to go four innings in the outing. He's eligible to be activated from the disabled list on Thursday, but it's possible he'll make additional rehab starts. P.J. Walters seems likely to lose his spot in the rotation when Pelfrey is ready.

Red Sox placed RHP Mike Pelfrey on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 19, with a back strain.
It's not clear when Pelfrey suffered the injury, but he'll require at least a couple weeks of down time. He had been scheduled to start on Sunday in Cleveland, but the Twins have recalled Pedro Hernandez to take the ball instead.

Mike Pelfrey allowed four runs in six innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Tuesday.
Pelfrey was only slightly better than his counterpart, Dylan Axelrod, as both starters allowed 10 hits over six innings. On the plus side, Pelfrey didn't walk a batter in the outing, only the second time he's done that all season. He's stuck at 3-6 and hasn't recorded a win in over a month, with the last coming on May 5. He'll search for his fourth win against the Indians Sunday in Cleveland.

Mike Pelfrey allowed three runs in seven innings Wednesday, taking a no-decision as the Twins came back to beat the Phillies.
Big Pelf actually pitched pretty well despite the three runs allowed, giving up just five hits and a walk while striking out seven. It was one of the few bright spots for Pelfrey this year, as he still owns a 3-6 record and 6.12 ERA. He'll next toe the rubber against the White Sox on Tuesday.

Mike Pelfrey allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings in taking the loss against the Mariners on Friday.
Pelfrey flirted with danger all night, allowing six hits and four walks in his 5 1/3 innings. Add in that he only struck out two batters and it was a recipe for disaster. The right-hander hasn't won since May 5, and he now sports a demonic 6.66 ERA with a 1.77 WHIP through 11 starts. His next start will come Thursday against the Royals.
