Mike Minor struck out nine Pirates over 6 1/3 innings Monday, but he also allowed seven runs on eight hits and three walks. Minor was taken deep just one in his first four starts this season, but both Pedro Alvarez and Yamaico Navarro hit one over the boards Monday. Still, we're very encouraged by what Minor did in the opening month. Tonight pushed his ERA up to 4.68, but he boasts a 1.13 WHIP and 30/8 K/BB ratio over 32 2/3 innings. The left faces the Rockies in Denver next.
