Holliday is out of Friday's lineup against the Dodgers due to a fever, Jim Hayes of Fox Sports Midwest reports. Holliday's absence from the lineup seemed a bit precarious considering the number of day off he's received recently, and now reasoning behind it has been revealed. Assuming the issue doesn't turn into something serious, Holliday shouldn't be sidelined too long. Randal Grichuk will play left field Friday in his place, batting cleanup for the Cardinals.

Holliday isn't in Friday's lineup against the Dodgers, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports. Holliday will receive a simple day off Friday from the looks of it, just his seventh rest day of the campaign. Randal Grichuck will enter the lineup in left field, batting cleanup Friday against the Dodgers.

Holliday will likely not see time at first base this season, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. There had been some calls for Holliday to move over to first given his age and the outfield depth that the Cardinals have but it appears that won't happen. If manager Mike Matheny's comments are any indication, owners looking for new position eligibility for Holliday are likely to be disappointed.

Holliday (arm) is back in the lineup Monday against the Diamondbacks. Holliday was a late scratch Sunday due to an arm bruise, but the ailment won't end up holding him out for consecutive contests. He'll return to his regular role in left field, batting third in the order.

Holliday has been scratched from Sunday's lineup due to a left arm contusion. It's unclear when Holliday originally injured the elbow, so consider the veteran day-to-day leading up to Monday's series opener against the Diamondbacks. Mark Reynolds will move over to cover Adams' spot in left field as a result of a complete lineup reshuffle.

Holliday is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets, according to MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch. Holliday went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's game, but manager Mike Matheny decided to give the veteran a day off with the Cardinals playing an early afternoon affair Thursday. Mark Reynolds will get the start in left field in Holliday's place.

Holliday went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run in Wednesday's 9-0 rout of the Mets. Holliday has been surprisingly productive this season, as the nice game raised his average to .328. He slumped to just a .272 level last year, and at 35, he certainly isn't getting any younger. Despite all the hits, Holliday has been lacking in the power department, as he's only got three homers on the year. Still, it's hard for his fantasy owners to complain about the stat package he's offered so far.

Contrary to a previous report, Holliday (elbow) is in the Cardinals' lineup as the designated hitter Thursday, Fox Sports Midwest's Jim Hayes reports. The first lineup the Cardinals released had Holliday out of the lineup with Jhonny Peralta getting the nod at DH, but Hayes is reporting that Matheny will instead give Holliday the start. It is not clear if Peralta is the one getting the day off, or if Peralta will play shortstop and Pete Kozma will sit, but either way, those in full-season leagues should make sure to get Holliday in their lineups Thursday.

Holliday (elbow) is not in the lineup Thursday against the Indians. Holliday was diagnosed with an elbow contusion after getting hit by a pitch in Wednesday night's game, and the Cardinals will be extra cautious by holding him out of the day game that directly follows. Mark Reynolds will take his spot in left field for the afternoon contest.

Holliday (elbow) left Wednesday's game after being hit by a pitch in the elbow in his first at-bat. Holliday took a pitch to the elbow in the first inning of Wednesday's game against Cleveland. Despite trying to stay in the game, Holliday was replaced in the field by Pete Kozma. The Cardinals will wrap up their series with the Indians on Thursday and it remains to be seen whether this elbow injury will keep him out of the lineup.
