Holliday went 2-for-5 and hit a three-run home run while driving in four on the night in the win over Cleveland Tuesday.
Holliday continues his torrid start to the season, slashing .346/.462/.495 over the seasons first five weeks while driving in 21 runs. He looks well on his way to a slight bounce-back season from the slow decline displayed over the past several years.

Holliday went 3-for-5 with a double in the 7-5 loss to Pittsburgh Saturday night.
Holliday continues to rake, but it's strange as he's become a contact hitter late in his career. With a .354 average it's strange to see Holliday with only a .474 SLG, so it remains to be seen if this is the type of hitter Holliday is now or if a power surge is right around the corner.

Holliday was 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in the Cardinals win over Pittsburgh on Friday night.
It was only his second homer on the season, but Holliday has quietly been one of the more productive players in the league. He is now hitting .340 and has 17 RBI. The third inning home run allowed him to extend his streak to 29 consecutive games reaching base (dating back to last year) and makes him 12-for-21 with runners in scoring position in 2015.

Holliday is out of the lineup Thursday, the Chicago Tribune's Mark Gonzales reports.
This is just a standard day off, as the Cardinals used Wednesday and Thursday to give most of the regulars one off day before the weekend series. Jon Jay gets the start in left field Thursday.

Holliday is out of the lineup Sunday against the Brewers.
Holliday smacked his first long ball of the season in Saturday's contest, and is slashing a superb .358/.478/.434 to start the year. He's started all 16 games in left field, however, so a routine day of rest was likely in order. Manager Mike Matheny will turn to Mark Reynolds as a short-term replacement in the outfield.

Holliday (back) is in the lineup Sunday against the Reds.
Holliday played just one inning of Saturday's victory before mid-back tightness, but he evidently checked out fine after being reexamined Sunday morning. The left fielder will slot back in at the No. 3 spot in the order, where he'll face off against the Reds' Mike Leake, against whom Holliday owns a 14-for-36 career batting line.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said Holliday (back) should be ready to go Sunday, Jim Hayes of FOX Sports Midwest reports.
Holliday was removed from Saturday's game after one inning with what was labeled mid-back tightness, but it seems the club was just being cautious. The Cardinals will close the series with Cincinnati against right-hander Mike Leake, against whom Holliday is 14-for-36 (.389 average) with three doubles and a homer in his career.

Holliday left Saturday's game against the Reds after one inning with mid-back tightness.
Peter Bourjos came into the game as the center fielder to begin the second inning, pushing Jon Jay to left. Holliday doubled and came around to score in the first on a Matt Adams single, and the team is saying Holliday's removal was precautionary, but his status for Sunday's series finale is uncertain.
