Teixeira (hamstring) is back in the lineup Tuesday against the Tigers. Teixeira missed Monday's game due to lingering hamstring tightness, which first crept up last week, but it seems the decision to hold him out was largely precautionary. He'll return Tuesday and look to improve upon his 4-for-16 career mark against Rick Porcello, but if the tightness persists, he could require another maintenance day in the near future.

Teixeira's left hamstring is enduring some tightness, hence the reason he was given a day off Monday, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports. Teixeira, who initially felt the issue while running the bases late last week, is available as a pinch hitter, if needed Monday. Alas, he'll hand over first base to Chase Headley, who is batting seventh in the order.

Teixeira is out of the lineup Monday in Kansas City, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports. Teixeira's right leg was hit by a pitch Saturday, but he was able to gut it out at first base for Sunday's entire 10-inning affair. Monday's absence is likely a scheduled day off, as he last sat out on Aug. 9. During that span, he reached base in 10 of 12 outings, batting .256 (11-for-43) with one homer, two RBI, five runs, and a 5:12 BB:K.

Teixeira was hit on the right leg in the eighth inning of Saturday's game, and although he remained in the game, "there's some concern" according to manager Joe Girardi, the NY Daily News reports. At this point, the concern should only be considered cautionary, as Teixeira showed no signs of pain. Teixeira has been hampered by injuries all season, but it seems unlikely that this will force him to miss any time.

Teixeira went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay. Teixeira had a productive series against the Rays, racking up five hits in 12 at-bats. Overall he's slashing .235/.333/.446 with a team-best 20 home runs to go with 53 RBI this season.

Teixeira (finger) said he felt "not bad" in his return to the starting lineup Sunday after missing three games with an injury to his pinky finger, the NY Post reports. Teixeira said he's still dealing with some pain in his finger, but it feels a lot better than it initially did. He made it through the full game on Sunday, and added a hit, so he likely won't miss any more time with this injury, but his status is still worth monitoring until the finger fully heals.

Teixeira (finger) went 1-for-4 on Sunday in his return to the lineup. He's more capable in hitting left-handed than right-handed right now. The Yankees face left-handed starters on Tuesday and Saturday this week, so there's a possibility he might not start on those two days.

Teixeira (finger) is back in the lineup Sunday, but will need to go through batting practice to ensure his finger will hold up, Meredith Marakovits of the YES Network reports. Teixeira had his left pinky stitched up Thursday and it caused him to miss Friday and Saturday as well. He is back in the lineup Sunday on the condition that his finger makes it through batting practice before the game without issues.

Teixeira (finger) took soft toss in the batting cages Saturday but suggested he'll need to see improvement before he can think about playing, the New York Daily News reports. "Probably 50 percent, but obviously that's not going to get the job done" Teixeira said. "It's not the cut. The cut is -- I don't want to say irrelevant -- but it's the joint that's really, really sore. So whether it was sprained or bruised -- we're not really sure -- the joint is really sore. The cut you just wrap and play, (with) the joint I can't grip a bat." Manager Joe Girardi, meanwhile, said Teixeira is "definitely closer than he was (Friday)" and added that it's possible he could be available in some capacity Sunday. However, with the 34-year-old still not capable of gripping a bat, it seems likely he'll remain on the bench for the finale against Cleveland. The Yankees will continue to monitor Teixeira on a day-to-day basis, but a DL stint remains a possibility if he is unable to make sufficient progress by the middle of next week.

Teixeira attempted to hit off a tee Friday, describing the activity as "very painful," MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports. Teixeira said that he's still hopeful about avoiding the DL, but with the first baseman only putting his health at about 50 percent at the moment, it's hard to be optimistic about his chances of returning in the next couple of days. Despite being nicked up repeatedly this season, Teixeira has managed to remain fairly productive on a per-game basis, homering 19 times and driving in 52 runs in 84 games.
