Teixeira is out of the lineup Thursday, the YES Network's Meredith Marakovits reports.
While Teixeira is sitting just slightly above the Mendoza Line (.204), he has five home runs and four doubles in 49 at-bats, and seemingly has as much power as ever. The batting average is likely to leave a lot to be desired, but players who can potentially hit 30 homers in a season are difficult to find in the current run-scoring environment. Garrett Jones gets the start at first base Thursday.

Teixeira hit a three-run homer and drew a walk in five plate appearances Wednesday against the Tigers.
The garbage-time home run salvaged his fantasy owners' day, and it served as his fifth long ball of the year. There's plenty of value in five homers and 13 RBI, but Texy's .204 average is a major drag, and there's no sign that he'll make anything more than marginal improvements on that figure.

Teixeira launched his fourth home run of the season in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Tigers.
Teixeira, who has been known to be a slow starter, has struggled out of the gate as he's hitting just .190 (8-for-42) through 12 appearances. His average has been steadily on the decline as the 35-year-old hasn't hit above .256 since 2009, so he'll need to stay healthy and keep utilizing the long ball to provide production for fantasy owners.

Teixeira is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox,
This is Teixeira's first missed game of the year and it is completely understandable given Friday's 19-inning marathon. Update your daily lineups accordingly, but this is just rest, not injury or multi-game problem.

Teixeira (knee) is expected to play Wednesday, ESPN's Wallace Matthews reports.
Teixeira felt a bit better Tuesday morning, after being hit by a pitch during Sunday's game. He's merely dealing with a contusion, and while the pain may hold him out for a few days, he's seemingly still on track to be ready for Opening Day.

Teixeira was removed from Sunday's spring training game following suffering a knee contusion after being hit by pitch, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Teixeira was immediately taken out of the game and appeared to be limping but was seen later walking normally and reported feeling fine. It appears as though he avoided any serious setback, but consider him day-to-day for the time being as the club may elect to hold him out for precautionary reasons.

Teixeira went 0-for-3, but drove in his first run of the spring in Saturday's Grapefruit League win against the Tigers.
It hasn't been a great spring for Teixeira as he's just 3-for-18 with no extra base hits in seven Grapefruit League appearances. He's still the go-to guy at first base for the Yankees, though given the team's willingness to try Alex Rodriguez out at first, the offseason acquisition of Garrett Jones, and his own personal injury history -- he's played in fewer than 125 games each of the last three seasons -- he could see more days off or at DH than in the past few years.

Teixeira is in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
Teixeira did not start the last two games and appeared to be shut down for the season, but he will get the start at first base in the Yankees' season finale. Teixeira will bat cleanup against Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz.

Teixeira is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox, according to Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York.
It was reported Thursday that Teixeira would likely be shut down for the season, and it appears that is the case, as he has not played since. Teixeira has an outside shot to play in Sunday's season finale given that he has not officially been ruled out, but it seems likely that his season is over.

Teixeira is not in the Yankees' lineup Friday, CSN Northeast's Maureen Mullen reports.
It was reported Thursday that he may be shut down for the season, and so far, that seems to be the case. Those in single-season leagues would be wise to look for production elsewhere this weekend. Francisco Cervelli will start at first Friday.
