Teixeira's left hamstring is enduring some tightness, hence the reason he was given a day off Monday, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports. Teixeira, who initially felt the issue while running the bases late last week, is available as a pinch hitter, if needed Monday. Alas, he'll hand over first base to Chase Headley, who is batting seventh in the order.
