Teixeira (wrist) will likely be shut down for the last four games of the season, the NY Post reports. Teixeira said he still wants to play, but with the Yankees officially eliminated from the playoffs, manager Joe Girardi is leaning toward playing it safe. The first baseman has been hampered by injuries all season long, and received his third cortisone shot of the year last week. He has still been able to launch 22 homers, but has seen his batting average drop to just .219.

Teixeira (wrist) is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports. Teixeira will return to action after sitting out the last couple games. It's not clear how much he will be limited by the sore wrist during the season's final week, but he will man first base and bat fifth Tuesday night.

Teixeira (wrist) had another cortisone shot (his third of the season) and hopes to play Tuesday, YES Network's Meredith Marakovits reports. He's out of the lineup again Monday, but the hope is that this latest shot will allow him to contribute in the last handful of games in 2014. Obviously a wrist injury is not ideal for a power hitter, so it's a testament to Teixeira's ability that he has still managed 21 home runs in 119 games.

Teixeira (wrist) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays. Teixeira is again dealing with wrist soreness, so he will be held out Sunday. He said Saturday that he wants to continue playing, but with the Yankees out of the playoff hunt, it would not be a surprise if the club decides to shut him down early.

Teixeira intends to play through his wrist injury with the help of cortisone injections, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Teixeira was forced to leave Saturday's game prematurely with a sore right wrist. He's been dealing with this injury for almost a week and will require his third cortisone injection during that time span if the trainers ultimately allow it. Despite Teixeira's desire to play, his status will still be in question for the final stretch of the season.

Teixeira was removed from Saturday's game with an injured right wrist and is still being evaluated by the trainer, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports. Teixeira recently recovered from his wrist injury but seemed to be suffering from the same ailing wrist Saturday. A further update on his status should be forthcoming, but he can be considered day-to-day at the moment.

Teixeira (wrist) is back in the lineup Wednesday against the Rays, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports. With Teixeira reporting improvement in the wrist after sitting out Tuesday night, he'll draw back in at first base while batting cleanup. It appears the multiple injuries Teixeira has been dealing with are starting to catch up with him, as he's produced only four home runs in the second half.

Teixeira is out of the lineup Tuesday due soreness in his wrist, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports. Brian McCann will take over at first base Tuesday, with Teixeira's troublesome wrist presenting issues once again. Teixeira was productive in the first half of the season despite some lingering wrist soreness, but he's struggled in the second half to the tune of a .179/.283/.298 batting line. Consider him day-to-day ahead of Wednesday's series finale against Tampa.

Teixeira went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning against Boston on Thursday. Teixeira tied the game at 4-4 when he smacked his 21st homer of the season. He's hitting just .225 on the season, and while he's supplied some power, Thursday's long ball was his first since August 17.
