Teixeira (neck) had a cortisone shot Monday and may not play until Wednesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. The ailment bothered him last week and kept him out of Monday's lineup, but the cortisone shot should help Texy get back in the lineup soon. Garrett Jones started at first base Monday and will probably do so again Tuesday.

Teixeira (neck) is out of the lineup Monday with a stiff neck, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Teixeira has missed a number of games this season with various ailments. This injury hasn't caused him to miss significant playing time thus far, but is something to watch moving forward as he missed last Wednesday's game with the same neck injury. Garrett Jones will step in at first base in his absence.

Teixeira (neck) is back in the lineup Thursday against the Marlins, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports. Teixeira missed Wednesday's game with neck stiffness, but it doesn't appear to be anything serious, as he's back in the lineup at first base. He'll bat fourth against Marlins' starter Mat Latos.

Teixeira missed Wednesday's game with a stiff neck and hopes to be back Thursday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports. Teixeira was thought to have missed Wednesday's game for rest, but this seems to have just been precautionary. He should be ready for Thursday's game against the Marlins barring any setbacks.

Teixeira will be rested for Wednesday's game and is not in the lineup against the Marlins, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Teixeira hadn't gotten a day off since May 29 against Oakland, playing in 14 consecutive games. He'll likely return to the lineup Thursday when the Yankees wrap up their two-game set with the Marlins in New York.

Teixeira managed just one hit Monday, but made it count, lifting his 18th home run of the season. The first baseman is having a resurgent season in New York, hitting .256 with 18 home runs after hitting just .216 last year and missing almost all of 2013 with injury. Teixeira has been especially strong this month, hitting .318 with 13 RBI and four home runs.

Teixeira went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's win over Seattle. That's the 16th homer of the year for Texy, and he's got the most modest of five-game hitting streaks going, with one hit in every game. He's also struck out in each of those games -- an unusual development for a guy who hasn't whiffed much this year. The RBI lifted his AL-leading total to 41.

Teixeira is not in the lineup Friday against the A's, Newsday's Erik Boland reports. Garrett Jones will step in at first base as Teixeira sits after 14 consecutive starts. Consider it merely a day of rest for the 35-year-old Teixeira until there's some sort of indication otherwise.

Teixeira went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and four RBI in Tuesday's 5-1 win over Kansas City. The home run off Jason Vargas was Teixeira's third in seven games and his fourth of the year against a left-handed pitcher. Teixeira now ranks second in the AL in home runs (14), third in RBI (35) and fifth in walks (28). While his .243 average leaves something to be desired, the 35-year-old is getting it done in three of the other four rotisserie categories.

Teixeira was 1-for-5 with a solo home run in the Yankees loss to Texas on Friday night. While he's hitting just .250 on the year, Teixeira has now slugged 13 home runs and driven in 31 to lead the Yankees in both categories. The average is likely to stay about where it's at, but the power and RBIs in hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium have been a pleasant return on investment for his fantasy owners.
