Juan Lagares went 2-for-5 with an RBI single and an RBI double in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.
Despite a lack of consistent playing time, Lagares has arguably been the Mets' second-most productive hitter behind Daniel Murphy. The outfielder is slashing .294/.338/.441 in 149 plate appearances while playing excellent defense. With Eric Young, Jr. sidelined with an injury, Lagares should get every opportunity to prove himself on a regular basis.

Juan Lagares went 3-for-5 with a triple and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers.
Lagares tripled and scored against closer Kenley Jansen to bring the game back within one run in the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough. Despite intermittent playing time, Lagares continues to hit, now slashing .315/.355/.486 in 116 plate appearances. His performance merits regular playing time, but manager Terry Collins has been creative with his outfield thus far.

Juan Lagares (family) is expected back Wednesday.
Lagares flew to the Dominican Republic on Sunday to handle a private family matter. The Mets aren't going to place him on the bereavement list, so they'll be playing a man short on Tuesday night against the Dodgers. Lagares, 25, is batting .302/.345/.462 in 30 games this season and has played fantastic defense in center field.

Juan Lagares is not in the Mets' lineup Tuesday.
Lagares headed home to the Dominican Republic on Sunday to deal with a family issue. If he's going to be out for a couple of days, the Mets could place him on the bereavement list. Eric Young Jr. is starting in center field Tuesday night against the Dodgers.

Juan Lagares hit a two-run homer as the Mets defeated the Nationals on Saturday in Washington.
Lagares also made a fantastic homer-robbing catch off Jayson Werth. The athletic 25-year-old center fielder is now batting .304/.348/.471 with two home runs and 14 RBI in 29 games this season. He should be a regular member of the Mets' starting lineup going forward.

Juan Lagares is not in Thursday's lineup against the Yankees.
Lagares has now been out of the lineup in three out of the past four days. Mets manager Terry Collins has been trying to get Eric Young, Jr. into the lineup in recent days, which will apparently make Lagares the odd man out. It's a puzzling situation.

Juan Lagares went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Rockies.
Lagares singled twice and doubled in the game, scoring in the first and fourth innings. He's got a 13-game hitting streak going, and the center fielder has hit safely in 16 of his 17 games. Lagares recently got a vote of confidence from Mets manager Terry Collins, and rightfully so -- he's hitting .338/.360/.507 through 71 at-bats.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Saturday that Juan Lagares will be his primary center fielder.
Lagares is starting over Eric Young Jr. again on Saturday night against the Rockies. The 25-year-old is batting .333 with an .876 OPS in 64 plate appearances this season and is worth owning in NL-only fantasy formats.
