Lagares (thumb) is in the lineup and batting leadoff for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
This is Lagares's first start since June 4 against the Marlins when he went 1-for-4 with a stolen base. However, he has been a solid pinch hitter for the Mets over the past five games, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs. Lagares will likely continue to be a key outfield reserve for the Mets for the remainder of the season.

Lagares (thumb) was taken out of the lineup Tuesday due to a toothache, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
The slick-fielding outfielder has been battling through a painful thumb injury of late, but according to Ehalt, Lagares was on the initial lineup card Tuesday prior to coming down with a toothache. While it's disappointing for Lagares owners that he's out of the lineup again Tuesday, it's encouraging that his thumb was healthy enough for him to be penciled in as a starter for the Mets' series opener against the Pirates. He figures to rejoin the lineup in the near future once his dental issue is resolved.

Lagares (thumb) is out of lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets will continue to press on with a ragtag outfield Tuesday as both Lagares and Michael Conforto (wrist) are not on the lineup card. Lagares is attempting to play through a partially torn ligament in his thumb, but he hasn't been healthy enough to draw a start in the outfield since June 4 when he initially suffered the injury on a diving play. He got into Sunday's game, meaning that June 12 would be the latest date the Mets could backdate him if he is ultimately placed on the disabled list. He should be considered day-to-day for now, but his inability to log full games drastically knocks his value down in non-keeper formats.

Lagares (thumb) remains out of the starting lineup Sunday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares hasn't made a start in over a week, and that won't change for Sunday's matinee affair. With a team day off scheduled for Monday, the availability of Lagares will once again be questionable for Tuesday's series opener at home against Pittsburgh. In the meantime, Yoenis Cespedes will make his seventh straight start in center field.

Lagares (thumb) was held out of the lineup again Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
He entered Friday's game as a defensive replacement, as he did in the series opener against Milwaukee. Lagares also doubled in his lone at-bat Thursday. The expectation is that Lagares will be able to play through the partially torn thumb ligament, but it's uncertain when he'll return to the lineup.

Lagares (thumb) was able to take swings Thursday and could be available off the bench for the Mets' series opener against the Brewers, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Terry Collins was encouraged by Lagares' ability to take swings Thursday and according to Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News, he was able to get some work in the outfield as well. Lagares is attempting to play through a partially torn thumb ligament, but the Mets won't force him back into action until he's proven that he won't be overly affected by the ailment.

Lagares (thumb) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets will be without the former Gold Glover yet again Wednesday as Lagares continues to battle through a partially torn thumb ligament. Yoenis Cespedes will continue to start in center field with Lagares sidelined. Although there is optimism that Lagares will be able to avoid a stint on the DL, it's difficult to pinpoint when exactly he'll be ready to return to the lineup.

Lagares (thumb) will only be available Tuesday as a pinch runner, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares is nursing a partially torn ligament in his thumb, but the hope is that he'll be able to play through the ailment and avoid a DL stint. The thumb is still too sore for Lagares to bat or play the field, however, so he'll be relegated to pinch running duties for both games of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Pirates.

Lagares (thumb) has been diagnosed with a partially torn ligament in his thumb, but he will not be placed on the DL and will travel to Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares will be considered day-to-day for the time being, although it is unsure exactly how much time he will miss with the injury. The 27-year-old is having a solid season for the Mets, hitting .276/.315/.402 with two home runs, six RBI, and 84 percent contact rate. The team will give him a few days to see if he can play through the injury and offseason surgery is a possibility. More information will continue to be released surrounding his status in the coming days.

Lagares (thumb) has initially been diagnosed with a sprained left thumb and is heading to New York to be further examined by the Mets' doctors Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares suffered the injury while making a diving catch Saturday, as his glove was bent with the thumb turned in. Monday's exam will give the team and Lagares a better sense as to the eextent of the injury and how long he will be sidelined. Alejandro De Aza will be the short-term beneficiary of Lagares' absence.
