Lagarez exited Sunday's game early with a tight right calf, Adam Rubin of ESPN.com reports. If the injury is problematic enough that Lagares would have to miss a few games, call it good luck that the Mets have the All-Star break coming up. Lagares will get a few ays to rest up, so check back if he still has to miss some time.

Lagares is out of the lineup Tuesday. He has been getting more days off lately since he has struggled at the plate, but is still the Mets' primary center fielder due to his gold-glove caliber defense. Kirk Nieuwenhuis will get the start in center field Tuesday.

Lagares is out of the lineup Thursday against the Cubs. Lagares will give way to Darrell Cecilliani for the third time in the last seven games, but still doesn't appear to be in danger of losing playing time long-term. Like the rest of the Mets' offense, Lagares has underperformed a bit this season, even though his .260 June batting average is right in line with his career .261 mark.

Lagares is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds. Lagares has the game off to rest, as he finished Saturday's game that was suspended until Sunday. Lagares recorded just one hit in six at-bats in that outing, but given that he is the regular starter, he should be back the next time New York takes the field. Darrell Ceciliani will be in center field in his absence.

Lagares is out of the lineup Thursday, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. It was reported last week that Lagares is not 100 percent healthy, as a prior elbow injury is limiting his ability to make throws in the outfield. However, this seems to just be a normal day off, as Lagares has been playing almost every day of late. Darrell Ceciliani will get the start in center field and hit sixth Thursday.

Lagares" elbow injury is limiting his ability in the outfield, as the Mets have asked to be cautious about letting loose with throws. A worse-case scenario is that Lagares could need Tommy John surgery, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. The belief is still that Lagares is dealing with elbow soreness and not a torn ligament, which would require the surgery. His inability to throw impacts an already suspect Mets outfield. In addition, Lagares is still bothered by the rib injury, which has limited his range in the ouftield. But both ailments have not impacted him at the plate lately, as he is riding a nine-game hitting streak during which he has hit .350.

Lagares went 3-for-5, including his third home run of the season, a three-run shot that gave the Mets the lead and ultimately the win in their 10-8 defeat of the Braves on Sunday. Lagares has been red-hot the past 15 days, going 21-for-60 with two home runs and six runs batted in. The one negative is his 13:0 K:BB ratio in that span. If Lagares can find a way to get on as he did down the stretch last season, his offensive numbers likely would take a major jump forward.

Lagares is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Braves. Darrell Ceciliani will take over in center field as Lagares sits following 17 consecutive starts. There has been nothing so suggest an injury is in play, so expect Lagares to be available off the bench and back in the lineup for Sunday's series finale.

Lagares went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 2-1 loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday. Lagares provided all the offense for the Mets on Saturday, which is a surprise, as he's better known for his sparkling defense. With all the injuries the Mets have had, he's been inserted into the five-hole -- a change that could increase his fantasy value if it sticks, as it'll put him in more RBI situations going forward. That said, his upside is limited, as he only has a .262/.300/.359 career slash line.

Lagares is playing through some elbow discomfort, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. His rib issue won't get worse by playing but his elbow issue is a bit of a factor. It sounds like the plan is for Lagares to continue to play through any lingering discomfort, but it is worth noting that he is not 100 percent healthy.
