Lagares (oblique) won't be ready to come off the disabled list when first eligible, but the Mets are targeting a return in the middle of next week, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports.
EDGE Analysis
He will play in a rehab game on Monday and could come back a few days after that if there are no setbacks, Newsday's Marc Carig reports. Lagares should see a start or two a week while serving as a defensive replacement once he is activated.

Lagares (oblique) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares strained his oblique in late-May and will not be ready for Opening Day. His DL designation is retroactive to March 30, so he'll be eligible to return as soon as April 9. Michael Conforto and Ty Kelly will serve as the team's reserve outfielders.

Lagares (oblique) likely will start the 2017 season on the disabled list, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The backup outfielder, valued chiefly for his defense and occasional utility as a bottom-side platoon player, will not be an option immediately, which allows Michael Conforto and Ty Kelly to break camp with the Mets. Lagares remains an acceptable stash in NL-only fantasy games.

Lagares (oblique) said Wednesday that he expected to be ready for Opening Day, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares strained his oblique just four days ago, but evidently he's progressing quite well. The 28-year-old did some running Wednesday and plans to hit Thursday in preparation for the start of the season. He is expected to open the year as the Mets' fourth outfielder.

Lagares (oblique) said Tuesday that he feels almost 100 percent healthy, the New York Daily News' Kristie Ackert reports.
EDGE Analysis
He is still waiting for the results of an MRI he had late Monday afternoon, but that has not prevented him from telling teammates that the test showed no serious damage. The hope is that with treatment, Lagares will be ready to return to game action in a week or so. He is the only true center fielder on the roster, but will still likely lose out on a lot of starts to Curtis Granderson as the Mets look to deploy their best offensive lineup.

Lagares (oblique) will be shut down for a few days and may receive an MRI on Monday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares exited Saturday's game with a left oblique strain. He says that his oblique is feeling better but the team has decided to shut him down for the time being just to be safe. His status for Opening Day is currently unclear.

Lagares exited Saturday's spring training game with a left oblique strain, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
John Mora came on to replace Lagares after the gold glover strained his oblique early in Saturday's contest. There's no word on the severity of his injury at this time, but the Mets will likely be cautious with him for the remainder of spring training with Opening Day quickly approaching.

Lagares (back) will start in center field and bat ninth in the order in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares hasn't played since Friday while battling back stiffness, but the Mets never viewed it as a major concern. The 27-year-old remains the best defensive outfielder on the Mets roster, but he won't have a path to regular at-bats while all of Yoenis Cespedes, Curtis Granderson and Jay Bruce are healthy.

Lagares did not travel with the team Sunday due to back stiffness, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares had been struggling at the plate prior to this blip in the radar, as he only managed four hits in 24 at-bats so far this spring. Its unclear how severe this ailment is, but that should become clearer once he's examined by team doctors in the next day or so.

Lagares went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's split-squad game against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
He's off to a slow start this spring, hitting .167 (4-for-24), but Lagares' spot as the Mets' fourth outfielder is secure due to his excellent glove. How much playing time he gets in 2017 will depend more on the health of other players on the roster than his own performance, but he will offer a bit of speed when he does manage to draw into the starting lineup.
