Juan Carlos Oviedo has not yet arrived at Rays' camp due to visa issues.
Fellow reliever Juan Sandoval is also stuck in the Dominican Republic because of visa problems. Oviedo has been limited to just three rehab innings over the last two seasons due to injury, so the Rays are surely hoping to get a look at him soon.

Rays re-signed RHP Carlos Oviedo to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.
The deal is now official. Oviedo, formerly known as Leo Nunez, spent the 2013 season rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. The deal includes another $1.4 million with incentives, so he could max out at $2.9 million if all goes well. He could be in the mix at the closer role for Tampa Bay next season, though the recently-acquired Heath Bell might be the favorite.

According to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish, Juan Carlos Oviedo is expected to receive a major league contract from the Rays.
The deal won't be announced until later in the week, and terms of the contract have yet to be disclosed, but it will presumably be for less than the $2 million option the Rays declined. With the uncertainty at the back of the Rays bullpen, it's not unthinkable that Oviedo could work his way into save opportunities at some point this season.

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Rays are set to re-sign Juan Carlos Oviedo.
No official word yet, or contract terms have been disclosed. The artist formerly known as Leo Nunez spent the 2013 season rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. With the recent success that the Rays have had in reclamation bullpen arms, he could prove to be a very nice low-cost addition.

Rays declined RHP Juan Carlos Oviedo's $2 million option for 2014.
They'll pay him a $30,000 buyout instead. Oviedo missed all of this season while coming back from Tommy John surgery and had lat issues during his rehab. Assuming he's healthy, the man formally known as Leo Nunez could prove to be a nice under-the-radar bargain on a one-year, incentive-laden deal.

Rays activated RHP Juan Carlos Oviedo from the 60-day disabled list.
He's now on the 40-man roster again, though he could be back off it quickly if the Rays decline his $2 million option for 2014. Oviedo missed all of 2013 while coming back from Tommy John surgery and had lat issues during his rehab.

Juan Carlos Oviedo (elbow) had to be shut down from throwing for a few days recently because of lat soreness.
It doesn't appear to be a major setback, but it won't help Oviedo's chances at returning next month to fill a role in the Rays' bullpen. Tampa would probably view his return as an unexpected bonus at this point.

Juan Carlos Oviedo (elbow) has begun throwing to hitters.
Oviedo's recovery from Tommy John surgery is coming along slowly but surely. The reliever is hoping he'll feel well enough to join the Rays' bullpen sometime next month.

Juan Carlos Oviedo (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Sunday.
It's his first since last September's Tommy John surgery. It's possible Oviedo could make it back to the Rays' bullpen late in the season, but they signed him in hopes that he could contribute in 2014.

Rays purchased the contract of RHP Juan Carlos Oviedo, placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a right elbow injury.
Oviedo is working his way back from Tommy John surgery and will miss most, if not all, of the 2013 season. The Rays obviously have decided he's worth hanging onto in hopes he can contribute in 2014.
