Rays purchased the contract of RHP Juan Carlos Oviedo, placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a right elbow injury. Oviedo is working his way back from Tommy John surgery and will miss most, if not all, of the 2013 season. The Rays obviously have decided he's worth hanging onto in hopes he can contribute in 2014.
