The Orioles announced Friday that they're taking a "wait and see" approach with Jason Hammel's knee, but that he'll miss at least one start.
He had been originally lined up to face the Mariners in Seattle on Monday, a start which will in all likelihood go to Chris Tillman. Hammel is still likely to return to the team to make at least a couple of starts before the season is over.

An MRI on Jason Hammel's right knee didn't show a new injury.
Good news. The Orioles feared the worst after Hammel left Wednesday's game with pain in his surgically-repaired knee, but it looks like they dodged a bullet. He'll likely get a second opinion, but the Orioles are hopeful he'll be able to pitch again soon.

Jason Hammel (knee) will undergo an MRI on his right knee Thursday.
Hammel left Wednesday's start against the Rays in the fourth inning with pain his surgically-repaired right knee. He's hopeful that it's just scar tissue, but there's obviously reason for concern. His season could hinge on the diagnosis.

Jason Hammel said the pain he felt in his right knee Tuesday was the same he felt when he initially was hurt back in July.
That's not good. Hammel will undergo an MRI Wednesday, and while the Orioles are hoping it's just scar tissue breaking up, that might be optimistic thinking at this point. Chris Tillman is an option to take his spot in the rotation.

Jason Hammel has been diagnosed with a right knee injury.
Not good. It appeared that it was Hammel's left leg that buckled when he threw a pitch, but evidently he's aggravated the same knee that he had surgically-repaired back in mid-July. The Orioles have yet to say how long he could be out, but there would seem to be a good chance that this is a season-ender.

Jason Hammel looked sharp in his return from the DL on Thursday, allowing one run on six hits over five frames in a no-decision against the Yankees.
Hammel punched out six while walking just two in the game. The only blemish on his evening was an RBI single by Curtis Granderson in the fourth inning. He had been sidelined since July 13 after having surgery on his knee. He'll take an impressive 8-6 record, 3.46 ERA and 112/41 K/BB ratio into Wednesday's home start against the Rays.

Orioles activated RHP Jason Hammel from the 15-day disabled list.
Hammel, out since mid-July following knee surgery, will make his return Thursday night in a crucial matchup against the Yankees at Camden Yards. The 29-year-old right-hander returns to a surprising 3.54 ERA over 18 starts this season and is worth picking up in fantasy leagues if he's available on the waiver wire.

Jason Hammel (knee) will be activated from the disabled list to start Thursday against the Yankees.
Hammel tossed five scoreless innings in a rehab start last weekend and was officially cleared after having a successful bullpen session Tuesday. The right-hander has been sidelined since July 13, when he injured his right knee before eventually undergoing surgery.

The Orioles will make a decision on whether to activate Jason Hammel (knee) from the disabled list Monday.
Hammel is working his was back from arthroscopic knee surgery, and could be cleared to rejoin the Orioles next week after making a brief rehab appearance with High-A Frederick. Assuming he makes it through his bullpen session Monday without any issues, Hammel could be an option to start Thursday against the Yankees.

Jason Hammel pitched well in a rehab appearance with High-A Frederick on Saturday, allowing just three hits and a walk over five scoreless innings.
Hammel racked up seven strikeouts in the outing. The Orioles may be content to activate him after just one rehab start. A decision will be made by early next week.
