Odorizzi pitched 6.2 innings, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven batters before picking up his 10th loss (9-10) of the year in Tuesday's game against the Tigers. Tuesday's outing marks three straight quality starts for Odorizzi, as he has allowed just five runs in his last three starts (19.2 innings pitched). For the most part, Odorizzi is getting the job done and now sports a 3.83 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 153:48 K:BB ratio in 136.1 innings pitched this year. His next start is scheduled for Monday on the road against the Orioles.

Odorizzi had another nice outing Thursday, allowing two runs and four hits over seven innings at Texas. He issued just one walk and struck out seven batters. Other than a five-run clunker on August 3, Odorizzi has been great in his last 10 outings (59.1 innings), with five quality starts and 65 strikeouts during that stretch. On a down note, he hasn't been able to pitch deep into games this season, going seven innings or more in just four of 24 starts. One might assume that his great strikeout rate (10.2 K/9IP) is an explanation for his short outings, as strikeout artists tend to run up a high pitch counts. He's averaging just 97.6 pitches per start though, so it's more that the Rays haven't unleashed him yet. Whichever the case, Odorizzi's stock would rise if he worked deeper into games, as his aforementioned strikeout rate is fifth best among all MLB starting pitchers.

Odorizzi struck out nine and did not walk a batter while giving up three hits over six shutout innings to earn his eighth win of the season Saturday against the Cubs. Pounding the strike zone, Odorizzi turned in another strong outing as his breakout campaign continues. The nine strikeouts were his highest total since June 21 against the Astros (10), while the victory was his fourth in five trips to the mound. He'll face the Rangers in Arlington on Thursday in his next scheduled start.

Jake Odorizzi limited the Brewers to one run and three hits in seven innings to earn a win Monday. It's hard to believe this is the same guy who kept getting knocked around his second and third times through the order back in April. He's now gone nine straight starts without allowing more than three runs, dropping his ERA from 5.31 to 3.80.

Jake Odorizzi limited the Cardinals to two earned runs over 5 2/3 innings Tuesday in the Rays' 7-2 win. Odorizzi yielded a leadoff solo home run to Matt Carpenter in the bottom of the first inning but settled in after that, out-dueling Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright. The 24-year-old right-hander boasts a 2.39 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 53 strikeouts in 49 innings (eight starts) since June 10. He's a must-own in all standard fantasy leagues. A home start against the Brewers is next.

Jake Odorizzi pitched decently in a no-decision against the Orioles on Friday, allowing just one run on six hits over his five innings of work. The young right-hander racked up six strikeouts, but also issued four walks and needed 106 pitches to get through his five frames. The only damage against him came on an RBI single by Nick Hundley in the second inning. Though he sports a 3-7 record, he has impressed during his time with the Rays, compiling a 4.14 ERA (3.54 xFIP), 1.33 WHIP and 97/34 K/BB ratio over 82 2/3 innings. He'll take on the Yankees in New York his next time out.

Jake Odorizzi was dominant over 7 1/3 innings Saturday in the Rays' 8-0 defeat of the Astros. Odorizzi surrendered just one hit and two walks while racking up 10 strikeouts. The 24-year-old right-hander has been inconsistent this season, but his upside is considerable and he remains a good matchup-to-matchup play in standard mixed fantasy leagues. Odorizzi will try to stay in a groove next week in Baltimore.

Jake Odorizzi allowed two runs and three hits over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Orioles on Monday. Another solid outing for Odorizzi that didn't result in a win. He left with a one-run lead tonight, but he remained 0-4 in his last six starts and 2-7 overall. He deserved that poor record early on, but he has a 3.38 ERA in his last eight starts.

Jake Odorizzi allowed just three hits over 7 1/3 innings on Tuesday, but Matt Holliday's solo home run was the difference in the loss to the Cardinals. Odorizzi and the Rays deserved a better fate, but it's just the way the club has been going all season. The right-hander walked one and struck out five on the night, with Holliday's blast with two outs in the sixth inning counting as the Cardinals' only extra-base hit in the game. Alas, Odorizzi falls to 2-7 while lowering his ERA to 4.85. The 24-year-old will look for a better fate Sunday at the Astros.
