Odorizzi (oblique) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session on Monday and plans to rejoin the rotation in two weeks, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports. Odorizzi has hit all of his benchmarks thus far and is still on track for an early-July return to the Rays rotation. With him and Matt Moore scheduled to come back around the same time, it looks as if Erasmo Ramirez and Matt Andriese's time in the rotation may be limited.

The Rays are hoping to get Odorizzi (oblique) back in early July, MLB Network Radio reports. The fact that the Rays are openly expressing early July as the ideal return timetable for Odorizzi effectively rules out a June return. Meanwhile Erasmo Ramirez and Matt Andriese will stick in the back of the Rays' rotation, but both pitchers may be bounced once Odorizzi and Matt Moore (elbow) return in July.

Odorizzi (oblique) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Odorizzi was expected to land on the DL after leaving Friday's start against the Mariners with a strained oblique. The injury isn't considered overly serious, but it will put Odorizzi on the shelf for at least the next two weeks. The Rays recalled right hander Andrew Bellatti after placing Odorizzi on the DL.

Rays pitching coach Jim Hickey said Tuesday that Odorizzi (oblique) is probably a few weeks away from pitching in a major-league game, MLB Network Radio reports. Although the injury isn't considered overly serious, Odorizzi will likely be placed on the 15-day disabled list, after exiting Friday's start against the Marlins with a left oblique strain. The Rays have yet to announce a likely replacement for Thursday's game against the Angels.

Odorizzi (oblique) will see a doctor Monday but said he feels good, or at least no worse than he did Friday, the Tampa Times' Roger Mooney reports. He left Friday's game in the fifth inning with an oblique strain and it is unclear if it will force him to miss his next start. More information should be available following his visit with the doctor.
