Odorizzi allowed one run, three hits, three walks and had three strikeouts in 6.2 innings in Thursday's no-decision against the Red Sox.
Odorizzi's only blemish of the night came in the second inning, when Pablo Sandoval doubled and scored from Daniel Nava's sac fly. The 25-year-old will next face off against the Yankees in New York on Tuesday.

Odorizzi was masterful on Monday, earning the win by holding the Blue Jays to one run in eight innings of work.
The 25 year old fanned three and walked three in the outing. After a promising 2014 season, Odorizzi has allowed just one run in his first 14.2 innings of this season. He'll look to continue his success this weekend at home against the Yankees.

Odorizzi (1-0) excelled in his first start of the season Wednesday against Baltimore, giving up just two hits over 6.2 shutout innings with seven strikeouts.
His preseason sleeper status has materialized itself quickly with a star-quality first outing. We'll see if he can keep it up, as control hasn't always been Odorizzi's strong suit, and he was also rather vulnerable to the long ball last year.

Updating a previous report, Odorizzi will take the hill for the Rays' third regular season game, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Odorizzi and Nate Karns were expected to pitch in the second and third games of the season following Opening Day starter Chris Archer, but the order had not yet been determined. The decision was previously thought to be based on matchup, but since both options are right-handed, another factor may have came into play. A trendy sleeper in 2015 drafts, Odorizzi has allowed three earned runs on nine hits in 8.2 innings this spring.

Odorizzi will start the second game of the regular season for the Rays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Manager Kevin Cash made the announcement Friday evening that Odorizzi then Nathan Karns will follow opening-day starter Chris Archer in the Rays' rotation. Odorizzi is coming off a rookie campaign that saw him record 11 wins with a 4.13 ERA and an impressive 174 strikeouts (9.3 K/9).

Odorizzi gave up five runs on seven hits over three innings in a losing effort Wednesday against Boston.
The loss dropped his record to 11-13 for the season, and while Odorizzi's 4.18 ERA leaves plenty to be desired, there were some encouraging signs in 2014. Most notably, Odorizzi increased his strikeout rate to 24.2% after sitting at 18.0% in his debut in 2013. Further, xFIP (3.89) and FIP (3.74) point to a potentially lower ERA if his skills hold, with room for further improvement if he's able to cut back on his free passes (8.2% BB%) or home runs (1.1 HR/9) in 2015.

Odorizzi's scoreless innings streak ended at 14.1 in the bottom of the first inning Wednesday, and he was unable to sustain another such streak as the game went on. He'll take the mound again Monday against the Yankees and will make a second start next week against the White Sox.

Odorizzi scattered three hits over 7.1 scoreless innings against Toronto on Thursday, but did not factor in the decision. He did not issue a walk and struck out three.
Odorizzi was fantastic for the second straight start, but Tampa Bay gave him zero run support, and he continues to be dominate at home in general, as he entered Thursday's game with a 2.92 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 96 strikeouts in 86.3 innings. Conversely, he's been ineffective on the road, posting a 5.61 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 61 innings away from home. Furthermore, his three worst starts of the year, in which he surrendered a total of 20 runs, were all outside of the friendly confines of Tropicana Field. With that said, you might want to consider sitting him in his next start at Yankee Stadium, depending on your other options and league dynamics. It could be smooth sailing after his outing in New York though, as he's scheduled to make consecutive starts at home.

Odorizzi was brilliant in Saturday's win over the Red Sox, allowing just one hit and three walks while piling up seven strikeouts across seven scoreless innings.
Coming off of possibly his worst effort of the season, Odorizzi rebounded with one of his best. The rookie right-hander was nothing short of dominant over seven frames Saturday night, as a fourth-inning single off the bat of Will Middlebrooks was the only hit that the Red Sox' offense could scratch out. Odorizzi has put together a more than respectable campaign for the Rays to this point, which features an outstanding 10.0 K/9 through 147.1 innings. He is slated to be back atop the mound Thursday versus the Blue Jays.

Odorizzi had three straight quality starts entering Monday, but came away with his worst performance on the season. He has pitched well overall of late, but his ERA increased all the way up to 4.23 after this rough outing.
