McGee (elbow) threw a scoreless inning for Triple-A Durham on Monday, MLB.com reports.
With McGee making it through the outing unscathed, the lefty appears on track to be activated at some point this weekend. The lefty is expected to make another rehab appearance Wednesday, but manager Kevin Cash said seeing McGee pitch in back-to-back innings is no longer a priority. It's uncertain what role McGee will take on upon his return.

McGee (elbow) tossed a scoreless inning at Triple-A Durham on Tuesday night. According to the Tampa Bay Times, McGee was making the third of what will likely be five or six appearances on his rehab assignment.
With three scoreless appearances with Durham under his belt, McGee is trending toward an activation by the Rays within the next week. It remains to be seen if the Rays' current closer-by-committee approach will hold up, or if McGee will reprise the role that he held for the bulk of 2014.

McGee (elbow) will move his rehab to Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Steve Carney of WDAE 620 AM reports.
The deployment at Triple-A represents the last step in the recovery process for McGee, who has been out all season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his elbow in December. The lefty thrived as the Rays' closer last season, but with the team receiving capable work from many of their back-end bullpen arms at the moment, McGee won't necessarily be given his old job back outright upon his activation from the DL.

McGee walked two and allowed no hits while throwing 22 pitches in an inning during his second rehab appearance, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
The report also states McGee will need to make several more appearances, including one with multiple innings and others that are back-to-back to return to the Rays. The back end of the Rays' bullpen has pitched very well, with Brad Boxberger, Kevin Jepsen, and Steve Geltz all recording saves and ERA's well below 3.00. However, lefties have hit a better OPS against them, so McGee should be a useful weapon upon return.

McGee appears to be progressing well after undergoing arthroscopic elbow surgery over the offseason as he figures to be nearing a return to the big league bullpen. McGee (elbow) said his bullpen session went well Saturday and he could pitch in a minor league game Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Tribune's R. Mooney reports.
Look for McGee to begin a rehab assignment with High-A Charlotte on Tuesday if he feels good Sunday. This means he is nearing a return to the Rays' bullpen, as he may not require more than a few appearances in the minors before being activated from the DL.

McGee (elbow) said his rehab assignment will be put on hold due to stiffness in his body, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
McGee said his elbow isn't the issue, which bodes well for his chances to continue the rehab assignment within the next few days. This could set his timetable back by a bit, but he's merely considered day-to-day.
