Gio Gonzalez (back) was feeling fine on Wednesday. Gonzalez dealt with back tightness throughout his four-inning start in Tuesday's rain-delayed victory over the Giants. He should be fine for his next turn.

Gio Gonzalez held the Giants scoreless over four innings but left after a rain delay in Tuesday's 4-2 win. Gonzalez appeared to be nursing some back tightness throughout the game, but he was able to gut it out until the rains came. The Nationals bullpen did a solid job after that, limiting the Giants to two runs over the final five frames. Gonzalez will carry a 3.42 ERA and 1.24 WHIP into Atlanta this weekend.

The last to give up 10 earned runs was Jason Simontacchi, also in an interleague game against Detroit, back in 2007. The outing took Gonzalez's ERA from 2.97 to 3.57.
