Gio Gonzalez was shelled for seven earned runs in five innings Sunday as the Nationals fell to the Braves. Gonzalez struggled right out of the gate, yielding a leadoff double to B.J. Upton before allowing three total first-inning runs. He then yielded homers to Justin Upton and Andrelton Simmons in the third. Gonzalez will try to get back on track next time out vs. the Mets.

Gio Gonzalez struck out seven and allowed just one run but lasted only five innings in Tuesday's 8-7 win over the White Sox. Gonzalez, gave up four hits, walked two and let a run come home in the first inning on a balk. He was able to limit the damage, but the lefty wasn't very sharp in this one. Still, he boasts a nifty 0.82 ERA and 0.91 WHIP over his first two starts. Gonzalez goes up against the Braves over the weekend.

Gio Gonzalez pitched six scoreless innings and hit the game-winning home run to help the Nationals defeat the Marlins 3-0 on Wednesday. Gonzalez looks to have picked up right where he left off in 2012. The 27-year-old left-hander allowed just two hits and two walks on the evening while striking out five Marlins. A National League Cy Young contender last year, Gonzalez would be the ace on most other teams.

Gio Gonzalez fanned seven in four scoreless innings Thursday in a win over the Mets. Nationals pitchers struck out 13 in all in the 5-1 win. They allowed just two hits. Gonzalez has been dominant all spring, including in his World Baseball Classic start against Puerto Rico. He'll probably keep it going against the Marlins in his first regular-season start.

Gio Gonzalez struck out nine batters over six innings Monday morning in a minor league game. Gonzalez allowed seven hits but only one earned run and he threw 59 of his 87 pitches for strikes. It was his first outing in Nats camp since returning from the WBC. Gio should be a fantasy ace again this season.

Gio Gonzalez whiffed five over five scoreless frames in USA's win over Puerto Rico Tuesday. Gonzalez looked to be in midseason form, allowing just three hits and no walks. Including his Grapefruit League outings, the left-hander has now allowed just two runs over 13 innings, boasting an 11/3 K/BB ratio. Though he'll surely fall back a bit from last year, Gonzalez should remain a fine fantasy option in 2013.

Gio Gonzalez pitched three scoreless innings in his start against the Astros on Thursday. Gonzalez remains a part of Team USA, but he obviously hasn't joined the team yet; he isn't scheduled to start until Round 2, should the team advance in the WBC.

Gio Gonzalez yielded two runs in three innings Saturday in his start versus the Cardinals. Gonzalez escaped with only modest damage despite allowing five hits, walking one and striking out none. He'll now join Team USA as a likely first-round starting pitcher with R.A. Dickey and Ryan Vogelsong.
