Davis (oblique) fielded groundballs and took live batting practice Friday, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis continues to ramp up his activity without a hitch as he gears up for a rehab stint over the All-Star break. As long as everything goes as planned, he'll likely rejoin the Orioles immediately following the break for their series opener against the Cubs.

Davis (oblique) will go on a rehab assignment over the break, and remains on track to be activated immediately after next week's All-Star Game, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis said he feels "really good" and "pain-free for a good while now." The slugger has been working with little restriction for a handful of days, and he's hopeful to make a couple of rehab starts before returning July 14 when the Cubs visit Camden Yards.

Davis (oblique) said he expects to come off the 10-day disabled list in advance of the Orioles' first game after the All-Star break July 14, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis resumed throwing and hitting a few days ago and said he's been free of pain, so he's progressed from the strained oblique about as well as the Orioles and fantasy owners could have hoped after hitting the DL on June 14. The Orioles could have Davis pick up some at-bats as part of a rehab assignment during the break.

Davis (oblique) is scheduled to take batting practice Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis said he felt good after throwing Sunday, so he'll continue to ramp up his baseball activities in hopes of returning before the All-Star break. The team will continue to exercise caution with the 31-year-old, but he continues to make solid progress.

Davis (oblique) is set to resume throwing Monday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis would begin taking cuts soon after, and is pushing to make a return before the All-Star break. The team has been vocal in making sure Davis is not rushed back onto the field though, as the slugger has missed nearly 20 games with the oblique strain. There should be more news on Davis moving forward once he has resumed baseball activities.

Davis (oblique) is pushing the Orioles to let him increase his activity, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Apparently the PRP injection Davis received earlier in the week has done its job, as the 31-year-old is feeling good and even thinks he could return before the All-Star break. However, the team is being careful given the nature of the injury, so a return after the intermission seems more likely. Davis hit .226/.320/.461 with 14 homers in his first 61 games this season.

Davis (oblique) received a platelet rich plasma injection Tuesday in an attempt to help speed up his recovery, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis, who has been on the disabled list since June 14 with an oblique strain, is hoping he'll now be able to return sometime before the All-Star break. There still has been no word of him resuming baseball activities, so he'll remain without a firm timetable until he is able to do so. Trey Mancini should continue to fill in at first base while Davis is sidelined.

Manager Buck Showalter said Saturday that Davis (oblique) is unlikely to return in the next three weeks, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
EDGE Analysis
Considering Showalter's comments, it appears that Davis' absence could extend into the All-Star break. According to Kubatko, Davis will be shut down for at least a week before potentially resuming light baseball activities. Trey Mancini, who is slashing .303/.347/.549, figures to be the Orioles' regular first baseman until Davis is ready to return.

Davis (oblique) landed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
After Davis was diagnosed with a Grade 1 right oblique strain following Monday's game against the White Sox, manager Buck Showalter suggested the first baseman would likely miss multiple weeks, so the DL move was fully expected. The Orioles purchased the contract of David Washington from Triple-A Norfolk to provide another option at first base, but it's expected that Trey Mancini and Mark Trumbo will see most of the reps at the position while Davis is sidelined.

Manager Buck Showalter said Davis has a Grade 1 oblique strain and is probably going to need time on the disabled list, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Davis was diagnosed with the most mild form of a strain, oblique injuries tend to keep players out for an extended period of time. "I think I know it's potentially on the shorter side, but what's short," Showalter said when asked about a possible return date. "A month instead of two months?" At this point it's pretty unclear how long the injury will keep Davis sidelined, but more should be known once he gets back to Baltimore on Tuesday night and is further evaluated.
