Davis (oblique) received a platelet rich plasma injection Tuesday in an attempt to help speed up his recovery, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.

Davis, who has been on the disabled list since June 14 with an oblique strain, is hoping he'll now be able to return sometime before the All-Star break. There still has been no word of him resuming baseball activities, so he'll remain without a firm timetable until he is able to do so. Trey Mancini should continue to fill in at first base while Davis is sidelined.
