Manager Buck Showalter said Davis has a Grade 1 oblique strain and is probably going to need time on the disabled list, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.

While Davis was diagnosed with the most mild form of a strain, oblique injuries tend to keep players out for an extended period of time. "I think I know it's potentially on the shorter side, but what's short," Showalter said when asked about a possible return date. "A month instead of two months?" At this point it's pretty unclear how long the injury will keep Davis sidelined, but more should be known once he gets back to Baltimore on Tuesday night and is further evaluated.
