Anderson hurled a quality start against the A's on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk across six innings in a no-decision. He also struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson's last two starts have been bad as he allowed nine hits and five runs in both outings, but this performance was much better. It appears he's hitting a bit of a wall as his ERA has jumped nearly a run and a half in his last ten starts. His 10-percent strikeout-to-walk rate is far too low compared to his minor league numbers (20-percent) and he should improve on that in years to come. Anderson has another very tough matchup in his next start when he travels to Coors Field to take on the Rockies on Wednesday.

Anderson allowed four runs on eight hits, walking two and striking out four over just 4.1 innings of a 4-2 loss to the Mets on Friday night.
Anderson (4-3, 3.91 ERA) has been one of the more reliable starters for Arizona this season, but he has developed a bad habit of allowing home runs early on in games. He gave up a three-run shot off the bat of Lucas Duda and a solo homer by Michael Cuddyer in the first inning, and that marks three consecutive starts he has given up a home run in the opening frame.

Anderson held the Rockies to three runs on three hits and a pair of walks Friday. He struck out five and didn't receive a decision in the eventual 10-inning win.
After the Rockies torched Anderson for eight runs at Coors Field two starts ago, the change of venue to Arizona didn't seem to be helping initially -- he gave up all three runs in a first-inning rally. However, he settled down big-time thereafter, allowing just a lonely single while shutting Colorado out for the following five frames. It looks like Anderson's back on the right track after giving up 12 runs with a 4:4 K:BB in his last two outings, but with his lack of bat-missing ability, there could be a bit more volatility to come.

Anderson won his fourth game of the season Sunday against the Padres, allowing four runs across seven innings.
All four runs the 27-year-old allowed came via the home run, but he was otherwise able to limit the Padres and was bailed out by his offense. Anderson has been solid on the whole this season, with a 4-2 record and a 3.66 ERA through 91 innings, and will take on the Rockies in his next start Friday.

Anderson was torched by the Rockies at Coors Field on Tuesday, as he gave up eight runs on eight hits and three walks in a loss.
He served up three home runs in a classic Colorado blowup. He had given up three home runs all season prior to the start and should have better success in his next projected outing Sunday in San Diego. His ERA shot up from 2.84 to 3.54 after Tuesday's disaster.

Anderson (3-1) picked up the win against the Angels on Thursday, giving up two runs, seven hits and a walk while striking out two in six innings.
Anderson, who allowed one hit in seven scoreless innings at San Francisco in his previous start, blanked the Angels through four, keeping them hitless until Kole Calhoun lined a single with one out in the fourth. The run Anderson gave up in the fifth was his first in 14.2 innings. Anderson wasn't at his best Wednesday, but he was good enough for the win. He'll face off against the Rockies in Colorado on Tuesday in his next scheduled start.

Anderson (2-1) was fantastic Friday night, allowing just one hit and one walk in seven scoreless innings in a 1-0 win over the Giants.
While Anderson only struck out two batters, he took a no-hitter into the seventh in a spectacular performance, outdueling San Francisco ace Madison Bumgarner. Aside from a six-run outing against Milwaukee two starts ago, Anderson has not allowed more than two runs in any of his last eight starts. The only issue for Anderson is his strikeout rate, as he has only rung up 49 batters 73.1 innings. If he can discover a strikeout pitch, he could become a must-own fantasy option in the long run. Anderson's next start comes at home Wednesday when Arizona hosts the Angels.
