Carlos Quentin is eligible to return from his eight-game suspension Tuesday night against the Brewers.
Quentin was handed the suspension after he charged the mound when he was hit by a pitch by Dodgers' right-hander Zack Greinke on April 11. "I'm ready to resume baseball," said Quentin. "I hope it's behind us. I know it's probably going to come up at times, but for me, it's behind me." The veteran outfielder used his time away from the Padres to work on his swing and strengthen his knees.

Carlos Quentin has dropped the appeal of his eight-game suspension and will begin serving it on Sunday.
Major League Baseball was hearing the appeal, but Quentin has decided to drop it and go ahead and serve it now. The odds are good that they would have reduced it by one game, at most, anyway. Quentin will now miss the three-game series with the Dodgers that begins on Monday.

The ruling on Carlos Quentin's appeal of his eight-game suspension could come on Sunday.
It's no surprise that Major League Baseball would prefer a quick ruling with the Padres slated to begin a series against the Dodgers on Monday. Quentin was given the day off Saturday after going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Friday. "Carlos has a lot going on right now," Padres manager Bud Black said. "His at-bats weren't great (Friday)."

Carlos Quentin has been suspended eight games by Major League Baseball and also been fined an undisclosed amount of money for charging the mound against Zack Greinke on Thursday night.
Quentin plans on appealing his suspension. If the entirety of the suspension is upheld, he wouldn't return until April 22 against the Dodgers. Look for Jesus Guzman and Chris Denorfia to see increased playing time in the Padres' outfield once Quentin serves his punishment.

Carlos Quentin is in the Padres' starting lineup and hitting in his customary cleanup role on Friday.
While he's undoubtedly awaiting a suspension from Major League baseball after charging the mound against Zack Greinke on Thursday, Quentin will continue to hit in the middle of the Padres' lineup until he's handed his fate.

Carlos Quentin was ejected from Thursday's game against the Dodgers following a benches-clearing brawl.
Quentin charged the mound after he was hit by a pitch from Zack Greinke in the bottom of the sixth inning. While it was a 2-1 game at the time, he obviously thought that the pitch was intentional. Or perhaps he was reacting emotionally after he left Tuesday's game when he was hit by a pitch just above his wrist. Either way, he's likely looking at a suspension.

Carlos Quentin (wrist) is back in the Padres' lineup Thursday.
Quentin was hit by a pitch just above the wrist Tuesday and sat out Wednesday's game as a precaution. He'll return to a .250/.381/.438 batting line and three RBI.

Quentin was hit by a pitch just above the wrist Tuesday, but it sounds like he's escaped anything serious. Consider him day-to-day.

Carlos Quentin left Tuesday's game after being hit on the right wrist by a pitch.
Quentin is annually among the league leaders in getting hit by a pitch, and this one cost him. The Padres should provide an update on his status before long. If he should need a DL stint, Kyle Blanks would be an option to take his spot on the roster.
