Carlos Gonzalez (finger) could begin swinging a bat on Wednesday.
CarGo has dealt with a sprained right middle finger since July 7 and finally went on the DL earlier this month after a second aggravation of the ailment. He'll attempt to play through it down the stretch. "He's getting better, but we knew the situation -- his finger is not going to be 100 percent at any time for the rest of the year," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "It's something we'll have to deal with when he comes back, but hopefully it's something that's calmed down."

Carlos Gonzalez (finger) is unlikely to be activated from the disabled list when he's first eligible next Tuesday.
CarGo is taking things slow with his sprained right middle finger isn't expected to resume swinging a bat until next week or the week after. The Rockies are giving him all the time he needs, as they don't want him to aggravate the injury any further. Fantasy owners have no choice but to wait and hope for a strong finish to the season.

An MRI on Friday confirmed that Carlos Gonzalez (finger) is not dealing with any structural damage.
Gonzalez will not require surgery and is hoping to be activated for the DL in late-August. The Rockies are expected to give Charlie Blackmon the majority of starts in left field until he's ready to return.

Rockies placed OF Carlos Gonzalez on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right middle finger.
CarGo was cleared by doctors to play through the sprain and gave it a real shot, but the discomfort only got worse and won't go away unless he rests for a significant period of time. He'll look to return to Colorado's active roster around the end of this month. Gonzalez was batting .302/.367/.591 with 26 homers and 21 steals.

No official announcement from the team yet, but this is an indication that he's headed to the disabled list. CarGo has been told that his lingering finger won't get worse by playing through it, but it's clear he could use some time off.

The Rockies are considering placing Carlos Gonzalez on the disabled list due to his sprained right middle finger.
The club to this point has been resistant to putting CarGo on the DL with the belief that the injury isn't going to get worse. On Tuesday, though, manager Walt Weiss admitted that some extended rest might do the outfielder some good. "They say it may not be much better," Weiss said. "It maybe gives it an opportunity to calm down a little bit, anyway." The skipper added that a decision on CarGo will be made "here shortly."

CarGo aggravated his sprained right middle finger during Sunday's game and isn't ready after Monday's scheduled off day. The Rockies have resisted placing him on the DL until now, but it might be worth giving him an extended rest at this point.

The Rockies have no plans at this time to place Carlos Gonzalez (finger) on the disabled list.
It was reported Sunday that CarGo was likely DL-bound due to his nagging sprained right middle finger, but apparently that's not the case. The Rockies are convinced that Gonzalez won't make the injury worse by playing through it, so it's all about pain tolerance at this point. It's not clear if he'll be in the lineup Tuesday.

Carlos Gonzalez (finger) is expected to be placed on the disabled list.
Gonzalez missed the last three games after aggravating his sprained right middle finger and suffered a setback in his final at-bat Sunday. The Rockies will reevaluate him Monday before making a decision on whether he'll need to go on the DL. Josh Rutledge will likely be recalled to replace him on the active roster.
