The Rockies are willing to listen to offers for Gonzalez (knee), the Denver Post reports. Owner Dick Monfort said about a year ago that his plan was "to always keep" Gonzalez and Troy Tulowitzki (hip) for the fans' sake, but after a 66-96 campaign, he's evidently reconsidered. Gonzalez seems like the far more realistic trade candidate, considering the team's logjam of capable outfielders, which will likely include Michael Cuddyer again assuming he accepts his $15.3 million qualifying offer. Further, Gonzalez's contract is not as daunting to take on, as he's owed $53 million over the next three years whereas Tulowitzki is due $118 million through 2020. Ultimately, health may be the biggest roadblock for the Rockies in moving Gonzalez, as he underwent surgery to repair a damaged patella tendon in his left knee in August, ending his season. He's played in 180 games over the past two seasons.

Gonzalez (knee) was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list Monday. Gonzalez has been making progress after undergoing season-ending knee surgery Aug. 19, and is no longer using crutches. He also remains optimistic that he will be nearly 100 percent by the start of spring training. If he continues to progress, he could be good to go for the start of the regular season.

Gonzalez (knee) is no longer using crutches and remains optimistic that he'll be at close to full strength by the start of spring training, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. Gonzalez first underwent the season-ending procedure on his left knee on Aug. 19, after he played through tendinitis for much of the season. The 28-year-old said he still has difficulty climbing stairs, but with a slow and steady approach to the rehab process, he believes he'll creep closer to 100 percent health in the coming months.

Gonzalez (knee) was transferred to the 60-day DL on Sunday, MLB.com reports. With Gonzalez out for the season after undergoing knee surgery, the Rockies will be able to clear up a roster spot by moving him to the 60-day DL. Christian Bergman was activated from the 60-day DL in a corresponding move, and will take the mound for Sunday's tilt with the Marlins.

Gonzalez (knee) may not be ready for the start of spring training, the Denver Post reports. Head athletic trainer Keith Dugger provided some details regarding Gonzalez's recent surgery Tuesday, saying doctors not only cut out a torn part of his patella tendon but also removed a bursa sac and cleaned up a fat pad. With Gonzalez now facing a 5-to-6 month recovery window, Dugger admitted that the 28-year-old may be delayed a bit come spring training, but he said "our goal is to get him there and get him ready." Gonzalez will be confined to a walking brace for the next three weeks.

Gonzalez will undergo season-ending surgery Monday, but he's expected to be ready for spring training, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. The expected rehab time for this type of surgery is 5-6 months, which means Gonzalez will be rounding into form right at the beginning of spring training. In his absence, Drew Stubbs will likely see the day-to-day action in center field.

Gonzalez will have surgery Monday to repair his left patella tendon, the Rockies' Official Site reports. With this news, it seems likely that Gonzalez will miss the remainder of the season while he rehabs. The Colorado star had been having a disappointing season and this recent update falls in line with that downward trend.

Though an official decision on his status won't be made until he consults with doctors Thursday, Gonzalez is generally expected to miss the remainder of the season, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. Gonzalez received some more unfortunate news Wednesday in a season that's been full of it, as a recent MRI revealed that the condition of his left knee is actually worsening, despite the outfielder having not played in a game since Aug. 8. He's been bothered by tendinitis in the knee all season, and with the Rockies owning the worst record in baseball at this time, it probably makes sense to let the franchise cornerstone pick up some rest. At this point, the only way Gonzalez would have a chance at playing again in 2014 would be if the team decides to go the rest-and-rehab route, though surgery or other treatment options would probably offer a higher chance at rectifying the issue.

The damage to Gonzalez's patella tendon has increased slightly, and the Rockies will consult with doctors Thursday to determine a course of action, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Unlike teammate Troy Tulowitzki (hip), Gonzalez is not currently slated to undergo surgery, but it could still be an option if the team decides that's the best route to get him back at 100 percent for next season. Gonzalez appeared in just 18 games after his return from finger surgery before landing back on the DL. It's been a disappointing season for the 28-year-old, and if he doesn't make it back this season, he'll finish with a career low in games played with 70 and an OPS more than 230 points below his 2013 mark.

Gonzalez (knee) will visit a specialist Wednesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. With Gonzalez's knee tendinitis flaring up again last week, the Rockies decided to shut the 28-year-old down and they will send him to a specialist Wednesday to get a better grip on the severity of the issue. Gonzalez and the specialist are expected to discuss treatment options, and if the two sides settle on the course of action, a timetable for his return may then be established.
