The damage to Gonzalez's patella tendon has increased slightly, and the Rockies will consult with doctors Thursday to determine a course of action, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Unlike teammate Troy Tulowitzki (hip), Gonzalez is not currently slated to undergo surgery, but it could still be an option if the team decides that's the best route to get him back at 100 percent for next season. Gonzalez appeared in just 18 games after his return from finger surgery before landing back on the DL. It's been a disappointing season for the 28-year-old, and if he doesn't make it back this season, he'll finish with a career low in games played with 70 and an OPS more than 230 points below his 2013 mark.
