The Oakland Tribune reports Brett Anderson (ankle) will be sidelined until August, at the earliest.
Anderson is still working his way back from a stress fracture in his right foot and will be forced to remain in a walking boot for at least another four weeks. The Athletics have transferred him to the 60-day disabled list and he won't be reevaluated until after the All-Star break.

Athletics transferred LHP Brett Anderson from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move clears a spot for Dan Otero on the 40-man roster. Anderson has been shut down for four weeks due to a navicular stress fracture of his right foot last month and was scheduled for a checkup Friday. He wasn't likely to be ready by July 1 anyway, so the roster move shouldn't have an impact on his timeline.

Brett Anderson (foot) remains in a walking cast and is still using crutches.
Anderson has tried to keep his arm in shape by playing some catch on one knee, but obviously his recovery isn't too far along. The team is expected to have a better gauge on his possible return date when his foot is scanned on Friday.

Brett Anderson (foot) has been playing catch the past two days on one knee.
Anderson still isn't allowed to walk on his right foot, which has a navicular stress fracture, so he's looking for inventive ways to keep his arm in shape. "It's almost a good tool - I have to stay in line, or I'd fall over," Anderson said. "I get to be out in the sun, it breaks up my time in the training room, I feel more like a baseball player again, and I can build my arm strength back up." Anderson will get his foot scanned again on June 14 to see how it's healing. He remains hopeful of avoiding surgery.

Brett Anderson was diagnosed with a navicular stress fracture of his right foot and will be shut down for four weeks.
Rough news for Anderson, who just can't seem to stay healthy. The 25-year-old southpaw is set to be reevaluated after four weeks, so his actual return to the Athletics likely won't be until around the early part of July. Dan Straily is filling his spot in the rotation for now, but the A's could turn to Sonny Gray if he continues to struggle.

Brett Anderson (ankle) isn't sure when he'll be ready to come off the disabled list.
Anderson allowed six runs over 3 2/3 innings during a start with Double-A Midland on Sunday and is still feeling some discomfort in his right ankle. There was hope that he would be ready to rejoin the A's rotation on Friday, but it appears that he will need a little more time.

Brett Anderson said he had no issues with his right ankle during a rehab start with Double-A Midland on Sunday.
Anderson struggled in the start, allowing six runs over 3 2/3 innings, but the important thing is that he feels good physically. He'll test out the ankle again on Monday but should soon officially be cleared to rejoin the rotation on Friday.

Brett Anderson (ankle) will throw around 85 pitches in his rehab start with Double-A Midland on Sunday.
As long as everything goes as planned, Anderson is expected to be cleared to return to the A's starting rotation on May 17. He'll return to an uncharacteristically ugly 6.21 ERA and 1.62 WHIP that he posted through his first 29 innings before hitting the DL.

Brett Anderson (ankle) is scheduled to make a minor league rehab start this Sunday.
If the outing goes well, he should be cleared to return to the A's starting rotation the following Friday. Anderson has been out since April 30 with an injured right ankle. He had a rough 6.21 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 29/15 K/BB ratio in 29 innings before hitting the 15-day disabled list.

Brett Anderson threw a 30-pitch side session on Wednesday and felt no discomfort in his right ankle.
Anderson was placed on the disabled list on May 1 after spraining his ankle while pitching in relief during a late-April extra-innings marathon. His next step following Wednesday's bullpen session will probably be a rehab start. He should be back by mid-May.
