Athletics manager Bob Melvin said that Brett Anderson is likely to remain in the bullpen for the rest of the season. "At this point, he looks to just be a bullpen guy," Melvin said. Anderson has put up a 6.97 ERA over five relief appearances since returning late last month.

Brett Anderson (back) will play catch Sunday and thinks he'll be available out of the bullpen Monday. Anderson left Friday's game due to back spasms, but he's evidently feeling much better already. The southpaw holds a 6.97 ERA over five relief appearances since returning late last month.

Brett Anderson said that he feels better on Saturday, despite his back still being a little stiff. Anderson left Friday's game after facing just two hitters due to back spasms. He will take it easy on Saturday, and see how he feels on Sunday before attempting to throw again. Expect him to return to game action early next week.

Brett Anderson was removed from Friday's game against the Rangers due to back spasms. The oft-injured left-hander tossed just 16 pitches in the game, walking both of the hitters he faced, before departing with the training staff. The good news, is it doesn't sound like the injury will require an extended absence and he should return to the bullpen within a few days.

Brett Anderson was removed from Friday's game against the Rangers in the eighth inning due to an apparent injury. Anderson came on in the eighth with the A's leading 9-2, but walked the only two hitters he faced before walking off the field with the trainers. No word yet on the source or extent of the injury, but the team should have an update on his status after the game.

Brett Anderson earned his third three-inning save of the season, working the final three frames in Sunday's victory over the Astros. Anderson allowed one run on three hits and a pair of walks while striking out two. It still isn't to the point where those speculating for saves in deep leagues should take notice, but is impressive nonetheless. In four bullpen appearances since returning from the DL, Anderson has posted a 5.23 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 10/3 K/BB ratio over his 10 1/3 innings.

Brett Anderson picked up his second three-inning save Wednesday against the Rangers. Anderson allowed two runs in his three innings, but the A's let him finish an 11-4 game. He also notched a save in a 14-4 game in his return from the disabled list last week. At least those that held on to him in fantasy leagues are getting a little something from him.

Athletics activated LHP Brett Anderson from the 60-day disabled list. Anderson is finally back with the A's after missing four months with a foot injury, but he's expected to do so in a relief role. Tommy Milone was sent back down to the minors in a corresponding roster move.

Athletics manager Bob Melvin indicated Monday that Brett Anderson (foot) will likely return in a relief role. Anderson was touched up for five runs on five hits and two walks over 3 1/3 innings Thursday in his first rehab start with High-A Stockton. The southpaw is expected to be activated from the disabled list this week, but Melvin said "we're going to have a tough time starting Brett at this point."

Brett Anderson (foot) could rejoin the Athletics' rotation on Tuesday. Anderson will join the A's on Monday, though it's not clear if he'll be activated from the DL or make another rehab start. Tommy Milone is tentatively scheduled to start Tuesday, but he's already had an outing pushed back and could be bumped from the rotation entirely to make room for Anderson.
