Brett Anderson (ankle) will throw a bullpen session on Wednesday. Anderson ran before Monday's game and felt good, clearing the way for his return to the mound. The left-hander is eligible to return from the DL on May 15, and he should be ready at that time or shortly after as long as he doesn't have a setback.

If Brett Anderson's (ankle) running session goes well Monday, he'll join the Athletics during their road trip and throw a bullpen session. Anderson tried unsuccessfully to pitch through an ankle injury, as he was finally placed on the disabled list last week. As long as he doesn't have any setbacks, he should be ready for activation on May 15, the first day he's eligible.

Athletics placed LHP Brett Anderson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 30, with a sprained right ankle. Anderson aggravated his ankle when he was forced to pitch 5 1/3 innings of relief during Monday's extra-inning marathon and will now get some extended rest. Dan Straily has been called up to take his place in the starting rotation.

Brett Anderson left Monday's game in the 18th inning after tweaking his injured right ankle. Anderson didn't start tonight because of the ankle, but he came out of the pen to pitch 5 1/3 innings of relief before rolling the ankle in the 18th. He walked off OK afterwards, so we're guessing there's a pretty good chance he starts this weekend.

The Athletics will skip Brett Anderson's (ankle) next turn in the rotation. It's the smart thing to do. Anderson was able to make his last start despite a sprained right ankle, but he was clearly compromised in the outing. He's been fitted with a walking boot and hopes to rejoin the rotation after missing one turn. Dan Straily will be called up to start on Monday versus the Angels.

Brett Anderson, who left his last start with an ankle sprain, was tagged for six runs in four-plus innings by the Red Sox on Wednesday. Anderson got through three innings scoreless, but he stopped hitting his spots and got roughed up afterwards. He'll still be worth playing against the Angels next week.

Athletics manager Bob Melvin said that Brett Anderson (ankle) is "on schedule at this point" to make his scheduled start on Wednesday against the Red Sox. Anderson had to leave Friday's start after just one inning due to a right ankle sprain, but he threw, according to Melvin, a "very aggressive side" session Sunday with no issues. "I can obviously feel it a little bit when running," Anderson said, "but other than that, it feels good."

Brett Anderson (ankle) is confident he'll make his next scheduled start Wednesday against the Red Sox. Anderson was pulled from Friday's start after just one inning due to a right ankle sprain, but he made it through a bullpen session Sunday and said he felt really good Monday. The 25-year-old southpaw hasn't had much luck on the injury front during his career, but it looks like he caught a break this time.

Brett Anderson (ankle) threw a bullpen session on Sunday and might make his next start as scheduled. Could it be possible that Anderson caught a break for once? The left-hander has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, and after leaving his Friday start after one inning it seemed he was again headed for an extended absence. But the sprained ankle progressed Saturday, and after throwing a bullpen Sunday he seems on track to make his next scheduled start on Wednesday.

Brett Anderson (ankle) was feeling better on Saturday. Anderson made it through only one inning Friday against the Rays because of a right ankle sprain. The Athletics are optimistic that he will be able to make his next start but have not made an official ruling.
