Brett Anderson (foot) will throw another bullpen session on Tuesday.
Anderson will face hitters after that before hopefully being cleared to begin a rehab assignment. The left-hander should be ready to return in mid-August, but it's possible he won't have a spot in the rotation at that point.

Brett Anderson (foot) told the San Francisco Chronicle on Saturday that he would be open to returning in a bullpen role.
"At this point, I just want to come back and pitch on the mound in a big-league game," Anderson said. "I don't want to say there's not a spot for me, but I do want to be a team guy." With Dan Straily pitching well, the Athletics might not have an opening for Anderson in their starting rotation. He had just a 6.21 ERA over five starts prior to being placed on the disabled list.

Brett Anderson (foot) threw a 51-pitch bullpen session Saturday.
Anderson didn't report any issues and his next step will likely be to pitch in a simulated game. He should be sent on a rehab assignment in the next 1-2 weeks before rejoining Oakland's rotation in mid-to-late August.

Brett Anderson (foot) threw around 40 pitches in a bullpen session Wednesday.
Anderson, out since mid-May with a stress fracture in his right foot, just got back on the mound earlier this week. The southpaw is in the process of rebuilding his arm strength, but a minor league rehab assignment shouldn't be far off. If all goes well, he should rejoin the A's rotation by the end of next month.

Brett Anderson (foot) will throw a 50-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday.
It will come after he threw around 25-35 pitches in a bullpen session Monday. The stress fracture in Anderson's foot no longer appears to be an issue, but he obviously needs to build up his arm strength. The A's hope he's ready to rejoin the rotation early next month.

Brett Anderson (foot) 25-35 pitches in a bullpen session Monday.
It was his first bullpen session since being shut down with a stress fracture in his right foot in mid-May. The southpaw figures to need multiple bullpen sessions before going out on a rehab assignment, but a return in late August is a possibility.

Brett Anderson (foot) is expected to throw his first bullpen session when the team travels to Houston next week.
If all goes well, he could then progress to a minor league rehab assignment. He's likely to require at least a few starts before returning to the A's rotation, which won't happen until some point in August. His lengthy injury history makes him difficult to trust in most fantasy formats.

Brett Anderson (foot) has begun throwing from 105 feet.
There is still no timetable for his return to a mound, but one would have to think that he's getting close. Anderson has made only six total appearances for the A's this season and probably won't be back until early August.

Brett Anderson (foot) has shed his walking boot and been cleared to resume baseball activities.
The oft-injured lefty has been limited to just 29 highly ineffective innings this season, where he compiled a 1-4 record, 6.21 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 29/15 K/BB ratio. He is expected to return to the A's rotation at some point in August. While the talent is certainly there, his inability to stay on the field limits his fantasy upside.

Brett Anderson will undergo a CT scan on Friday to check the healing of a stress fracture in his right foot.
"Hopefully we're getting some good news, then he gets the boot off, then starts going in a positive direction where he can do some baseball activities, weight-bearing activities," Athletics manager Bob Melvin said. Anderson isn't expected back until some time in August.
