Thomas Harding of MLB.com writes that the Rockies could revisit talks of trading for Athletics starter Brett Anderson. Anderson is one of many players expected to change addresses at some point during the off-season. The lefty missed significant time in 2011-12 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He then suffered from an ankle injury at the end of April this past season. He could be a good bounce-back candidate for a team willing to gamble on the 25-year-old's health.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that the Rockies and Athletics discussed a potential trade involving Brett Anderson, but the two sides were unable to find a match. While the Rockies are in clear need of an upgrade or two to their rotation, Rosenthal notes that the talks for Anderson are unlikely to continue. The oft-injured 25-year-old southpaw has generated a lot of buzz in recent days, with the Yankees, Blue Jays, Indians, Twins and Mariners all rumored to be interested in acquiring his services.

According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports, the Yankees are interested in A's lefty Brett Anderson. They can join the Blue Jays, Indians, Twins and Mariners in that hunt. Oakland is expected to begin shopping Anderson heavily at next week's Winter Meetings in Orlando, Florida. The 25-year-old southpaw has been limited to 11 starts over the past two seasons due to injury issues, but there's still reason to love his potential.

Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle hears from one major league executive that the Blue Jays remain "infatuated" with Athletics left-hander Brett Anderson. The Indians, Twins, and Mariners are among the other teams believed to be interested in Anderson while another MLB executive tells Slusser that he wouldn't be surprised if the Red Sox and Orioles get involved. The 25-year-old left-hander has had all sorts of injury issues and is due $8 million in 2014, but there's no shortage of teams willing to gamble on his talent.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Mariners and Indians are among the teams interested in trading for Athletics left-hander Brett Anderson. The Athletics agreed to a deal with free agent Scott Kazmir on Monday, which makes the possibility of a trade more likely. Injuries have limited Anderson to just 11 starts over the past two seasons, but he's just 25 years old and has shown plenty of potential in the past. Someone will surely take a chance on him. He's under contract for $8 million in 2014.

The Royals have had internal discussions about Brett Anderson possibly filling one of their rotation spots, ESPN's Buster Olney is hearing. It seems as though Anderson isn't in the Athletics' rotation plans going forward, and the A's may be open to dealing the southpaw. Anderson has been injury-plagued in his five years in the majors, making just 11 starts over the past two seasons. Last year Anderson had a 6.04 ERA in 44 2/3 innings, almost half of which came in relief. Still just 25, Anderson could be a nice option for a team willing to take a chance.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman writes that the Athletics could listen to trade offers for left-hander Brett Anderson. Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle wrote the same thing last month. Whether the Athletics actually go through with it could depend on whether the club is able to re-sign free agent right-hander Bartolo Colon. Injuries have limited Anderson to just 163 innings since the start of the 2011 season, but he doesn't turn 26 until February. The Athletics have already exercised his $8 million option for 2014, but his contract still includes a $12 million club option for 2015.

Athletics exercised LHP Brett Anderson's $8 million option for 2014. Anderson posted a 6.04 ERA over another injury-plagued 2013 campaign, but his upside makes him worthy of an $8 million gamble. There's been some speculation that the A's could trade him, but he'll be part of someone's rotation in 2014.

Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Athletics could consider trading Brett Anderson this offseason. The club has an $8 million option on Anderson for 2014 that they'll pick up, but the southpaw could be dealt after that. Slusser says that there are "numerous" teams interested in Anderson, particularly the Blue Jays, who have expressed interest in him for two years and scouted the lefty at the end of the season. Anderson posted a 6.04 ERA over another injury-plagued 2013 campaign.

Athletics general manager Billy Beane indicated Friday that the club will pick up Brett Anderson's $8 million option for 2014. Anderson posted a 6.04 ERA over another injury-plagued 2013 season and hasn't managed to stay healthy for a full year since his rookie campaign. Still, his upside is undeniable, so paying him $8 million rather than a $1.5 million buyout is an easy call. He should break camp as a member of next year's rotation as long as he's healthy.
