Neuvirth (lower body) will back up Jhonas Enroth in Friday's game against the Canadiens, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports. Neuvirth has bee practicing with the team since Monday and appears to be fully healthy at this point, but the Sabres seem inclined to ease him back into action. Expect Neuvirth to return to the net Saturday, when the Sabres travel to Montreal for the back end of a home-and-home set.

Neuvirth (lower body) practiced with the team Monday morning, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports. Neuvirth's injury was feared to be serious initially, so his presence at practice represents a good sign. It appears he could be returning in the near future, but there isn't a set date for when it will occur.

Coach Ted Nolan indicated that the Sabres expected Neuvirth to miss days rather than weeks due to the lower-body injury he suffered Tuesday night against the Sharks. Neuvirth has been ruled out for both of the Sabres' games over the weekend, but it's possible Friday's home contest will be postponed in any case due to the ongoing snow emergency in the Buffalo area. At any rate, having Neuvirth miss only a few contests would amount to great news for the Sabres, as it was feared the goalie may have sustained a long-term injury when he suffered an apparent groin tweak in Tuesday's win. Jhonas Enroth will serve as the top netminder for the Sabres in the interim, but unless he plays exceedingly well, Neuvirth figures to remain option 1A for the team once he returns to full health.

Neuvirth exited Tuesday's game against the Sharks following the first period with a lower-body injury, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports. It's unclear how Neuvirth sustained the injury, as he remained in the crease for the first 20 minutes before inexplicably not returning for the start of the second period. Coach Ted Nolan should offer more insight into Neuvirth's condition during his post-game press conference. The game was tied 0-0 at the time of Neuvirth's departure, so Tuesday's decision will ultimately go to his replacement, Jhonas Enroth.

Tuesday's game, where Neuvirth is scheduled to start against San Jose's Troy Grosenick, will be played as planned even though Buffalo is in the middle of a nasty snowstorm, The Buffalo News reports. The crowd might be down a bit given the weather, but based on the way the Sabres have been playing this season maybe that will give the good people of Buffalo a little less stress than they're already having this week. We will note the Sharks are one of the few teams Buffalo has had success against lately, beating them the last seven times. That said, San Jose is a heavy favorite against Buffalo, as is pretty much any other team as the Sabres work through a major rebuild. As for Tuesday's games, the two teams are pushing to get this game in, as the remaining schedules of the two franchises on opposite coasts don't really make it conducive for a makeup.

Neuvirth will start in net Tuesday against the Sharks. The netminder was excellent last time out, stopping 32 of the 34 shots he faced in Saturday's win over the Maple Leafs. With Tuesday's start, Neuvirth and Enroth will both have 10 appearances on the season as they continue to battle for the starting gig.

Neuvirth made 32 saves in a 6-2 win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday night. He continues to see a lot of pucks, so his save percentage is actually solid this season. But he has just three wins and a bloated GAA. Surely, you have better options.

Neuvirth will be in the crease for Saturday's game against the Maple Leafs. Neuvirth will look to get back on track after being lit up for six goals on 29 shots his last time out, but that will not be easy against a Toronto squad that sits third in the NHL with 3.31 goals per game.

Neuvirth was tagged for six goals on 29 shots in Tuesday's blowout loss to St. Louis. And that's how your strong start to the season gets erased in one night. All of a sudden, Neuvirth finds himself sitting on an ugly 3.07 GAA and has won just twice -- his respectable .915 save mark isn't enough to make up for that.

Neuvirth will start between the pipes Tuesday against the Blues, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports. Neuvirth has played well so far this season, and appears to have taken over the starting position from Jhonas Enroth. He won't win a ton of games playing for the Sabres, but Neuvirth's .929 save percentage is good for 10th in the league.
