Neuvirth is dealing with a lower-body injury, the Sabres' official site reports. Neuvirth suffered his injury "while working out during the All-Star break and will miss some time," GM Tim Murray relayed Monday. "He will not join the team for our trip out west this week," Murray added. With Neuvirth ailing, the Sabres have recalled fellow goalie Matt Hackett.

Neuvirth stopped 28 of 32 shots Saturday against the Flyers, as the Sabres took their 10th consecutive regulation loss. Neuvirth hasn't won a game since Nov. 15, taking a loss in each of his last eight turns. He's posted some useful save totals in a couple of those outings, but beyond that, the lack of victories and horrid ratios he provides make him toxic for fantasy purposes.

Neuvirth will be in the crease Saturday against the Flyers, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports. Unsurprisingly, coach Ted Nolan will hand the net over to Neuvirth after Jhonas Enroth was whipped for seven goals on 37 shots in Thursday's embarrassing loss to the Wild. Neuvirth has begun to whittle into Enroth's workload of that to turn the Sabres' netminding situation into a true timeshare, but that won't give him much fantasy value. With a 3-12-1 record, 3.34 GAA and .909 save percentage over his 17 appearances this season, Neuvirth has done more harm than good for fantasy owners who have had to resort to using him.

Neuvirth gave up three goals on 30 shots in Tuesday's loss to the Red Wings. Opposing Czech netminder Petr Mrazek did more credit to the legacy of Dominik Hasek, whose number was retired by the Sabres on Tuesday, than Neuvirth did. It's his seventh loss in a row, a span during which he's been tagged or 25 goals.

Neuvirth will get the start in net against the Red Wings Tuesday. Fantasy owners will want to avoid Neuvirth if at all possible. While he hasn't played terrible, posting a 3.36 GAA and a .909 save percentage, his average play has not translated into wins. He's registered an abysmal 3-11-1 record through 16 games with the lowly Sabres this season.

Neuvirth will likely start in goal for the Sabres on Tuesday against the Red Wings, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports. Per the report, the Red Wings are likely to start Petr Mrazek on Tuesday against Neuvirth, who made 45 saves on 47 shots in his last start, a 2-1 loss to Tampa Bay this past Friday.

Neuvirth was outstanding in Friday's loss to Tampa Bay, making 45 saves on 47 shots. While Neuvirth was dominant Friday, he picked up his sixth straight loss. The 26-year-old has managed just one win in his last 10 games, making him unappealing in almost all fantasy leagues. With a 3-11-1 record, to go with a .909 save percentage and 3.36 GAA, it's hard to see Neuvirth's numbers improving on a lowly Sabres team. Considering how poorly Jhonas Enroth has been playing, Neuvrith could see some more starts in the near-future. If you're looking for wins, however, you best be looking elsewhere.

Neuvirth will be in the cage for Friday's game against the Lightning. The Sabres have lost six games in a row, and coach Ted Nolan is desperate to stumble into a hot goalie. Neuvirth hasn't been playing well of late, but with nominal No. 1 goalie Jhonas Enroth also scuffling, he should continue to receive ample duty. It's advisable to stay away from Neuvirth until he notices a sustained run of success.

Neuvirth was pulled Saturday at the 12:34 mark of the first after allowing four goals on nine shots. Those four goals came in a 3:50 span. The Rangers had their way with him -- the first three goals came on the power play in a 2:32 span. He's a sketchy roll at any given time. Avoid him if you can.

Neuvirth will remain in the net for Saturday's game against the Rangers. In a surprising decision, coach Ted Nolan will turn to Neuvirth -- who entered the week as the team's clear backup goalie -- for both ends of their weekend back-to-back set. He likely earned the nod by delivering a quality outing in defeat Friday against the Panthers, stopping 31 of 33 shots. With Enroth scuffling in recent starts and the Sabres losing momentum from their hot first half of December, it seems Nolan is grasping for straws at this point. It's surely to the benefit of Neuvirth, but his 3.21 GAA and .911 save percentage over 14 appearances make it difficult for fantasy owners to rely on him.
