Neuvirth stopped 44 of 50 shots in Saturday's World Cup opener against Team Canada.
EDGE Analysis
While Neuvirth and the Czech Republic lost 6-0, the Flyers netminder played excellent and was left out to dry by his teammates. Although he wasn't to blame for the loss, it's very possible the team switches to Petr Mrazek for their next game to breathe some new life into the club. Neuvirth was sensational in the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs and looks like he's carried that show-stealing play into the World Cup. After posting a .924 save percentage with the Flyers last season, Neuvirth appears destined for good things in 2016-17.

Neuvirth is likely to start Saturday's World Cup opener against Team Canada, Tom Gulliti of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Neuvirth produced arguably the best season of his career during the 2015-16 campaign, posting a 2.27 GAA and .924 save percentage en route to a 18-8 record (four OTL). He'll have a hard test in the first official game of tournament play as he faces off against a Canadian squad that is hungry for a second consecutive World Cup of Hockey title.

Neuvirth denied 28 of 29 shots Sunday against the Capitals, but the lone goal allowed proved to be the dagger with Washington winning the series in six games.
EDGE Analysis
Neuvirth was brilliant between the posts, denying 103 of 105 shots (.981 save percentage) in the last three games. He clearly outplayed Steve Mason, who was handed the reins for Games 1-3, but lost all of those contests and put the Flyers in a deep hole. Both netminders will be under contract through next season, but one would think Neuvy's stellar postseason has him as the early favorite for the starting job in 2016-17.

Neuvirth is on track to start Sunday's home game against the Caps.
EDGE Analysis
Since taking over from Steve Mason when he drew Wednesday's start in goal for the Flyers, Neuvirth has stopped 75 of 76 shots (including all 44 shots in Game 5 of the team's first-round playoff series) en route to back-to-back wins over the Caps. With Neuvirth on a roll, the Flyers -- down 3-2 in in the series -- will look to extend the matchup to a seventh game, which would take place Wednesday in Washington, if necessary.

Neuvirth was extraordinary Friday, turning aside all 44 shots in a 2-0 win over Washington in Game 5.
EDGE Analysis
Neuvirth has almost single-handedly gotten the Flyers back into the series, allowing just a single goal on 76 shots in his two starts -- both of which were wins while down 3-0 in the series. Steve Mason proved to be a huge liability through the first three games against the Caps, so look for Neuvirth again to put up a big-time performance in Game 6 Sunday back in Pennsylvania.

Neuvirth will shield the net Friday night for Game 5 against the Capitals, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Neuvirth has the only win for the Flyers in this series against a fierce Washington team that claimed the Presidents' Trophy for most points in the regular season. In order to stretch the series, Neuvy will have to be one of the team's best on the penalty kill. Of course, the Philly skaters could do him a huge favor by playing disciplined hockey and limiting silly penalties at all costs. To that point, the Caps are converting just over 42 percent of their power-play opportunities in the playoffs - no team is stronger in that category. This is a road game for Neuvy, and from a fantasy perspective, it's best to roll with a different goalie, someone who doesn't have so many factors working against him.

Neuvirth stepped up when called upon, stopping 31 of 32 Washington shots to keep Philadelphia's season alive with a 2-1 win Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Neuvirth got the Game 4 start due to continued poor play from Steve Mason, and delivered a tremendous performance to extend the series. He will likely stay in net for the duration of this series, but that may not last long considering the lopsided nature of these teams' first two meetings in Washington.

Neuvirth will start between the pipes for Game 4 on Wednesday against the Capitals, Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
After dropping each of the first three games to the Capitals, the Flyers will make a last ditch effort and turn to Neuvirth for Game 4. If he can manage to take the game for the Flyers, it seems likely he will continue in goal as long as he can keep the team alive in the postseason. It could be difficult to do so against the high-powered Capitals, but Neuvirth will at least get the home ice advantage, where he's 9-3-2 with a 2.17 GAA and .928 save percentage this season.

Neuvirth stopped 15 of the 17 shots he faced in Sunday's 5-2 victory over the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
With both the Flyers and Islanders already in the playoffs, several starters were rested on both sides. It was a light workload for Neuvirth, but it was good to see him back and making his first start since March 13 due to an injury. Even with the strong performance, expect the 28-year-old to return to the backup role for the postseason.

Neuvirth will start in goal for the Flyers' regular-season finale Sunday against the Islanders, Brian Compton of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Neuvirth returned to a backup role for each of the last two games, but will get a chance to start prior to the postseason with the Flyers locking up a spot Saturday. He will square off against another playoff-bound club Sunday in the Islanders, but the opposition will rest a number of their top players. This could bode well for Neuvirth, but the Flyers will likely sit some players as well, making for a tough call for those considering him in daily lineups.
