Okposo (ribs) remains week-to-week with and no return date set, WGR 550 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo will miss Tuesday's game against Philadelphia and likely Friday and Saturday's games as well. He hurt his ribs after crashing into the boards against Arizona, putting the brakes on his two-game, multi-point streak. He's having a good season with 43 points in 63 games in his first season with Buffalo, and led the team in scoring for much of the season until Ryan O'Reilly recently surpassed him. His absence is a big blow to the Sabres offense, although they've gotten some enormous contributions from Jack Eichel recently. Okposo's spot on the top line has been taken by Brian Gionta, who will stay there for the foreseeable future.

Okposo (ribs) is considered week-to-week.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo has already been ruled out of Sabres' next two contests, but this news suggests he could be on the shelf long term. The 28-year-old winger's injury couldn't come at a worse time for Buffalo and fantasy owners alike, as the Sabres' will now be without their leading scorer for the foreseeable future while they continue to battle for a playoff spot, and owners could be without a forward who has produced 43 points (19 goals, 24 assists) in 63 games heading into the fantasy postseason. The recently recalled Justin Bailey will likely continue to round out Buffalo's depth up front while Okposo is in recovery mode.

Okposo (rib cage) will miss both of this weekend's games, The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo leads the Sabres with 44 points, and the team will have to make some adjustments amid the top six to account for his absence. The Sabres can't afford to lose more than a handful of games at this stage with the team hanging onto playoff hopes by a thread, so we imagine they're really hoping he can return for next week's slate of games.

Okposo (ribs) was not on the ice Friday, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo left Thursday's game against Arizona after playing just 12:16, ending his night early after crashing into the boards in front of the bench where there is no glass. Okposo managed to register two assists before leaving the game, posting his second straight two-point game, and his absence will be a big blow to the Sabres offense. The big power forward was enjoying a good season despite the team's struggles, scoring 19 goals and 43 points in 63 games. His absence also comes at a time when Jack Eichel is in the midst of a eight-game point streak, and there is no timetable for Okposo's return. His status right now for this weekend's back-to-back games is questionable. Nicolas Deslauriers will likely draw back into the lineup in his absence in a bottom-six role, and Evander Kane or maybe even Justin Bailey will move up the lineup, allowing head coach Dan Bylsma to keep Eichel and Sam Reinhart together.

Okposo suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday's game and won't return.
EDGE Analysis
The Minnesotan tallied his first multi-point performance since Jan. 5 in his last time out, so it seemed like he was primed for a hot streak before this injury. More information about how this injury will impact his status going forward should come out after the game or after practice Friday.

Okposo scored a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's overtime loss to Nashville -- his first multi-point game since Jan. 5.
EDGE Analysis
Back then, Okposo had 27 points in 37 games, looking like he was well on his way to proving John Tavares couldn't take credit for his success. In the 24 games between Jan. 5 and Tuesday's contest, however, Okposo managed only six goals and six assists -- a considerable slowdown. Still, he's one of the most talented and relied-upon players on this Buffalo roster, and Okposo tends to score in bunches, so this could be the start of a late-season hot streak.

Okposo contributed a primary assist Monday, but it wasn't enough as the Sabres lost to the Devils on the road, 2-1.
EDGE Analysis
Buffalo has gone 5-4-1 in the past 10 games, but remains buried within the Atlantic Division standings. Okposo has been efficient over that span, registering four goals on a 16.0 shooting percentage, as well as two assists and a plus-3 rating in that span. The power winger is not likely to reach the 64 points that he set as an Islander last season, though he's still garnering 3:14 of ice time on the top man-advantage unit with seven goals and 10 helpers had in that situation this campaign. You could do much worse than use Okposo as a No. 2 fantasy forward.

Okposo scored the game-winning goal during Friday's overtime win against Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
It was Okposo's second consecutive game with a tally, and he's improved his season-long totals to 14 goals, 30 points and 111 shots through 44 games. He's likely capable of padding the scoresheet more frequently going forward, and a strong finish to the campaign isn't out of the question now that Buffalo is healthy up front. If there is a buy-low potential for Okposo acquiring him at a discount could pay off.

Okposo, who leads the Sabres with 12 goals and 27 points, has been selected for the NHL All-Star Game.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old winger is enjoying a productive season despite injuries to top centers Ryan O'Reilly and Jack Eichel. The big power forward has come exactly as advertised, using his strength and skill to provide another dimension to the Sabres offense. Okposo is in the first year of a seven-year contract, which was signed this past summer. He remains a valuable fantasy player and on pace to notch his fourth career 20-goal season.

Okposo had a power-play goal and an assist in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo has found the back of the net three times over his current four-game point streak. The former Islander topped 20 goals in two of his final three seasons downstate, and is well on pace to eclipse that mark once again with 12 tallies through 37 games up north. His subpar defensive play has remained constant as well, as Okposo's minus-2 plus-minus has him in the negatives for the sixth consecutive campaign.
