Okposo collected two assists -- one on the power play -- during Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
This was Okposo's first multi-point showing since Nov. 24, but he's also marked the scoresheet in seven of his past 11 games for three tallies and five helpers. With Buffalo scoring the fewest goals per 60 minutes (2.17) in the league, it's far from an ideal fantasy setup for the veteran winger. While Okposo's recent uptick in offense is encouraging for an improved run to finish the campaign, he probably still shouldn't be viewed as a universal asset.

Okposo scored a goal on three shots and added two blocks in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime loss against the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
It was Okposo's first goal in over two weeks, as his offensive production has taken a step back this season after posting 45 points last year. The goal against the Islanders was only his 15th point as we approach the halfway point of the '17-18 season. However, he has notched at least 2 shots in six of his last seven games, so the Minnesota native may turn it on in the second half for the fantasy owners that have stuck it out with him.

Okposo will be in the lineup against Chicago on Friday, despite sitting out the morning skate, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo enters Friday's tilt bogged down in a five-game pointless streak during which he has tallied just 10 shots on goal, two PIM and a minus-5 rating. With a mere 11 points through the first 26 games, Okposo may struggle to reach the 40-point mark for the first time since the lockout shortened 2012-13 season when he was with the Islanders. The winger's chance of ending his drought took a hit when Corey Crawford (undisclosed) was announced as the starting netminder for the Blackhawks.

Okposo potted a goal and picked up a helper in Friday's 3-1 win over Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo finally makes his way to double-digit points on the season with this two-point performance. However, after a painfully slow start to the year, the 29-year-old has seven points over his last eight games. Okposo might be turning the corner and could continue scoring at a regular rate for the remainder of the campaign.

Okposo played 20:24 against Montreal on Saturday, the most since returning from illness.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo missed two games due to his ailment in mid-October and saw his ice time range from 9:23 to 18:56 since returning, but logged 20:24 and registered three shots on net against the Habs. He's scored five points in 15 games this season, which is below his usual pace, but the entire team is struggling to score, with just six goals in their past four games. The good news is that Okposo is a fixture on Ryan O'Reilly's line, which means Okposo will continue to get good scoring opportunities at even strength and on the power play. Okposo can be valuable in fantasy leagues that count peripherals, but his current scoring pace and minus-9 rating make him unpalatable in most leagues.

Okposo fashioned a goal, an assist, three hits and a plus-2 rating in a 5-4 road win over the Coyotes on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The American winger opened the scoring for the Sabres, with his early production proving clutch as the 'Yotes netted three unanswered goals for a comeback bid that barely fell short. Still, Okposo's four points (one goal, three assists) through 11 games qualifies as a disappointment and that trend is made worse by his tallying just a single man-advantage point so far. Coach Phil Housley has given the 29-year-old 16:43 of average ice time, which is more than two minutes less per contest than he garnered last year, so it's no surprise to see Okposo's production slip in response to reduced playing time.

Okposo (illness) will be back in the Sabres' lineup for Tuesday night's showdown in Las Vegas, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo was forced to miss two games as a result of his ailment, but he is apparently healthy and ready to retake his regular offensive role both on the power play and at regular strength. The Minnesota native has been shooting the puck plenty, racking up 11 shots on goal in his first four contests, but has yet to break into the points column, something he'll look to change against Malcolm Subban and the Golden Knights on Tuesday.

There's a chance Okposo (illness) will return to the lineup Tuesday, The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo has missed the last two games against Anaheim and L.A. due to illness. He missed time at the end of last season due to illness as well, and it's unclear if his current condition is related. Through four games Okposo has yet to register a point despite taking 11 shots on goal. He'll return to his usual spot on the top two lines when he's healthy.

Okposo (illness) will miss his second straight game Sunday against Anaheim, the Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even though Okposo is recovering and was able to exercise Sunday, he's still not healthy enough to take the ice. Even though the 29-year-old has gone pointless to start the season, he recorded 45 points in 65 games last season for Buffalo and his offensive production will certainly be missed. Okposo will shoot to return Tuesday against Vegas.

Okposo has come down with the flu, thus ruling him out for Saturday's game against the Kings in Los Angeles, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harrington adds that the top-six winger could be held out of Sunday's away game with the Ducks as well. It's been a tough start to the season for Okposo, as he's skated to a minus-6 rating without any points through the season's first four games. Fortunately, his latest illness reportedly is unrelated to a problem with medications that saw him land in the intensive care unit at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
